While the BTS members are busy with their upcoming plans and projects, there is no denying that even they can’t back out from a few important situations. One of them is the mandatory military enlistment that everyone has to go through in South Korea. The K-pop group includes seven members, among whom Jin is the oldest member. According to the current rules, he will have to enlist for his mandatory military service by the end of this year. The topic of the Septet’s military enlistment has been the talk of the town for quite some time. Moreover, the proposals for exemption from the same have not been a success till now.
The 2030 Busan World Expo
For the unversed, the BTS members were recently appointed as official public relations ambassadors for Busan, which is bidding for the World Expo 2030. The BTS will not only be the brand ambassadors for the Busan World Expo 2030, but they will also be holding a global concert for the same. Furthermore, they will be participating as goodwill ambassadors in various activities to encourage the members of the Bureau International Des Expositions (BIE) that votes for the host country of the expo. The memorandum also includes the conditions that the Septet will have to advertise promotional videos via social media channels and provide videos and photos for the digital campaigns of Busan.
The Mayor’s alternative
According to the latest reports, the current Mayor of Busan, Park Hyeong Joon, has proposed an alternative plan for the BTS members’ military services. The Mayor has planned an alternative duty for the BTS members, which will be as heavy as the military service that would be expected from them when they promote Busan. All the seven members of the Bangtan Boys would have a responsibility on them as they will act as the rightful ambassadors of the event while exerting their global influence.
