The news about BTS taking a hiatus came as a shock for millions of armies around the world. However, the fans heaved a sigh of relief when HYBE announced that the group was not going on a break and that the members would be beginning with individual promotions. It was on June 14, 2022, that BTS released a video in which the members talked about their journey, struggles, future aspirations, etc. rumors started circulating about BTS going into a hiatus after the video’s release. Now, the members themselves have cleared the rumors.

The members’ clarifications

BTS leader RM is among the first people to clear the rumors of the band taking a hiatus and its alleged disbandment. He addressed the rumors on June 15, 2022, on the community platform Weverse. The leader wrote a lengthy letter in which he described the situation and informed the fans that the facts must be taken as they are and that they should not be misrepresented or blown out of proportion.

Here is what Kim Namjoon wrote, “After the broadcast [of the Dinner Party], I got the biggest amount of messages/calls so far since our debut. On seeing the screenshots and article titles sent, “announcement”, “disbandment”, or “halt on activities”…there were a lot of provoking and fragmented/incomplete keywords.” RM also clarified that the video was completely dedicated to the group’s fans who joined the band members to celebrate their 9th debut anniversary.

The leader further added, “we’ve been sharing an exceptional period together for nearly 10 years without stopping, there’s definitely a special thing between Bangtan [BTS] and ARMY.”

Here is what he wrote, “As those of you who watched the video may know, the title of the song ‘Yet To Come’ precisely implies what we wanted to share, that this moment is not the end.” He also said, “I believe and have no doubts that our ARMYs who know us will understand what we were trying to say.”

RM concluded, “As the person who shared the most [in the video], I wanted to give a brief summary. I want to thank everyone who watched the video and shared your positive support, love and energy, whether from close by or far away. Whether as a team, or as an individual, I will work hard to show you a good side of myself. Thank you.”
