The tickets were being sold for the screening of the documentary film for the ‘Open Cinema’ segment of the 29th Busan International Film Festival on October 7. It will premiere at Busan Cinema Center’s outdoor theater in Haeundae.
BTS fans are elated to watch their favorite BTS leader as a solo artist and everything that went into making his second solo album, Right People, Wrong Place, on which the docu-film is based.

Fans can intricately view the strenuous eight-month journey of RM as he works hard to breathe life into the album, as well as snippets of his personal life moments up close. The events in the film will lead up to his military enlistment, which took place in December of 2023.
RM is currently serving his military term alongside five of his BTS bandmates, excluding Jin. He will be discharged from his military duties to South Korea in 2025.
Director Lee Seok-jun has offered a perspective-oriented look to the documentary setting it apart from its Korean movie counterparts. Festival programmer Kang So-won spoke at a press event at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry on September 3, revealing that RM’s 80-minute docu-film will shift the perspective of the viewers when it comes to their favorite BTS member. By the end of it, RM will be viewed through a separate lens. He will be more than just a talented, handsome singer.
BIGHIT, BTS’s agency, released a 1.47-minute-long trailer for RM: Right People, Wrong Place, which provided an overview of what is to be shown. RM reflects on his past, and how he wants to move on from the bridges that have already been burnt and be his raw authentic self moving forward.
He says, “I think that’s why I felt that way. The bridges are burnt I can’t go back there anyway. I thought I knew where I was going when I came here, but I didn’t. You know, just be more honest and frank and just be real, be me.”
After the screening at the 29th Busan International Film Festival, BIGHIT announced that the documentary will be available for viewing in theatres globally. Details for the same will be released later. Since RM will not be available during the screening of the film, Lee Seok-jun will be available to engage with the audience.
