When it comes to breaking records and hitting milestones, BTS is probably the first name that crosses anyone’s mind. And just like that, we have BTS’ V, aka Kim Taehyung, who has broken the Instagram record by becoming the fastest person ever to hit 50 million followers on social media within eight months of his debut.

For those who don’t know, BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, J-Hope, and Jungkook opened their individual Instagram accounts in December 2021. Out of them, Taehyung garners the record for the fastest time to achieve one million Instagram followers, and that too in 43 minutes.

According to the Hype auditor, which is an AI-powered tool, there was a 4.03 percent spike in Taehyung’s Instagram followers over the past four weeks. In addition to this, V has an engagement rate of 25.66 percent, with an average of 12.8 million likes per post.

ARMY’s reaction to BTS’ V milestone on social media

No matter what the ebbs and flows are, ARMY has always been the first one to express their solidarity and concern with BTS members. And it wouldn’t be a surprise if the ARMY is not celebrating BTS’ V’s victory. Previously, BLACKPINK’s Lisa held the record of achieving the exorbitant number of Instagram followers within 33 months. However, the Inner Child singer has surpassed this record and has achieved over 50 million followers within eight months.

Earlier this month, Taehyung was also ranked number 6 on the Top 1000 Instagram Influencers list. Surpassing Hollywood icons like Zendaya and Tom Holland, V possesses the title of “Highest Average Likes and Engagements on Instagram History.”

Apart from being the most adored and followed on Instagram, Kim Taehyung is recently seen in IN THE SOOP: Friendcation, which is a spin-off of HYBE’s most famous series, IN THE SOOP. Friendcation features Park Seojoon, Peakboy, Park Hyungsik, Choi Wooshik, and Kim Taehyung, who are collectively called the Wooga Squad. Friendcation follows the traveling adventures of the stars.

On the work front recently, BTS was also appointed as honorary ambassador of the 2030 Busan World Expo in July 2022. In the month of October, the Korean septet will reportedly hold a global concert in order to garner more support for Busan’s bidding for the expo.
