The Holiday season already feels V-merry!
BTS’s V has found a way to warm our hearts this winter by preparing not one but two Christmas special tracks which will be released later this year.
Apart from the November 6 announcement of V collaborating with Bing Crosby for the 1940s classic ‘White Christmas,’ he will also be coupling up with musical prodigy Park Hyo Shin for ‘Winter Ahead’ as announced on November 21.
Per the press release, V has been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and reached out to his longtime pal Hyo Shin to request a collaboration. The release stated that the BTS member’s innate love for jazz classics and his “longstanding friendship,” with the musical genius is what led to the fruition of this project.
Ahead of its November 29 release, V wanted this collaboration out before Christmas because he wants his “fans to have a warm and joyful winter.” Apart from ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Winter Ahead,’ the K-pop idol has released several other hit holiday tracks including ‘Snow Flower’ and ‘Christmas Tree.’
He also sang a cover of Michael Buble’s ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas,’ the quintessential on-repeat holiday track, in 2022.
The ‘Fire’ singer’s dream collaboration with Bing Crosby on ‘White Christmas,’ will blend his voice with “a restored, isolated recording of one of the late legend’s archival performances of the famous track,” according to Billboard.
The ‘Dynamite’ hitmaker, after the November 6 announcement, said in a statement, “I’m so grateful to have had the chance to be featured in a song with my all-time favorite jazz artist, Bing Crosby,” before adding, “I grew up listening to his song ‘It’s Been a Long, Long Time’ countless times a day, and I feel incredibly fortunate and honored to have sung along on ‘White Christmas’ with the voice of someone I consider an idol.” ‘White Christmas’ will be released on December 6.
