In the world of celebrity relationships and breakups, the latest spit making the most buzz in town revolves around Cardi B and Offset. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper, 31, got candid and took it upon herself to confirm their split with a cryptic yet revealing statement during an Instagram Live over the weekend as she revealed that she is single by admitting, “I’ve been single for a minute now,” according to a recording of the livestream shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Their whirlwind romance captured the attention of millions as the couple secretly tied the knot in September 2017, one month before the public proposal, and share a daughter, Kulture, 5, and a son, Wave, 2. Due to this, the unexpected news has left fans wondering what led to the end of this power couple’s love story, as the couple has previously been on and off several times. In 2020, Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset, but the following month, it was revealed they were back together.
In the live stream, it looks like Cardi B came forward to confirm her single status to clarify all the gossip in the wake of ongoing rumors about their relationship. In the clip, she continued to add, “But I have been afraid… Not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been, like, a sign.” Cardi B said she wants to start the new year “fresh” and “open,” as she admitted, “I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah… I’m excited.”
As the live stream went on, she also acknowledged that her recent social media activity had been full of “clues” about her relationship status.

To add more formation to this, last week, many of their fans noticed that she and Offset had both unfollowed each other on Instagram. In the clip, she stated, “I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings.” The revelation about her and Offset no longer being together came after the couple attended the same event on Sunday night — TikTok In the Mix music festival in Mesa, Arizona.
Though they were not clicked in any of the event’s photographs together.
The eagle-eyed fans also noticed that on Dec. 4, the “Jealousy” rapper, which was a collaboration with Offset as the lead single of his second solo album, Set It Off (2023), shared some more cryptic messages that hinted at possible relationship trouble on her Instagram Stories, including, “You know when you just outgrow relationships.” In this post, she added to the statement, “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings…I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST.”
On the other hand, Offset, 31, also posted to his Instagram Story in the wake of the unfollowing news last week. He posted a Scarface clip to his Story featuring Al Pacino yelling, “Hey, f— you, man! Who put this thing together? Me! Who do I trust? Me!”
In addition to this, the breakup comes after the sign Cardi was referring to was Blueface’s claim in a now-deleted tweet that his ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, Chrisean, was intimate with the Migos rapper at Offset and Cardi’s L.A. home in November. Due to this controversy, Offset has come forward and refuted those claims on X with a tweet of his own. “I ain’t never talk or touch that lady,” he said in his rebuttal. “Real Talk man you need some help!”

No additional comments have been made by the two rappers or their representatives.
At last, Cardi B, along with Offset and two of their children, were seen together voicing the cast of the children’s animated film Baby Shark’s Big Movie, which premiered on Nickelodeon cable television and streamed on Paramount+ on December 8, 2023.
