Cardi B candidly shared her health struggles before her performance at Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve. The ‘Up’ hitmaker took to her Instagram story to reveal that she was “fighting” for her life.
Expressing her health update, she mentioned, “I’m literally fighting for my life right now. I am so sick. I don’t understand because when I was in New York, I was going out with sweaters, toes out, everything.” The songstress, 31, went on to joke about being “allergic to Florida,” as she felt “a little cough” immediately after landing in Miami for the show.
“My chest started getting tight,” she added in the Instagram clip. “Bro, I’ve been fighting for three days and I have a huge performance later. Huge performance. Like, alright, I get that it’s New Year’s but I have this huge performance and I’m fighting, fighting.”

Cardi lashes out at fans
Recently, Cardi B found herself addressing rumours and speculation about her relationship status, particularly regarding her estranged husband, Offset. In a passionate message delivered during her X live chatroom session on Friday, the Grammy-winning rapper emphatically expressed her frustration.
“Shut the f–k up! Did I say I was back together with somebody?! Did I said that? The last time I got dragged was with my own f**king fanbase. I don’t see no one talking s**t about my own f**king fanbase! Did I say — Did he say it — No! Leave me the f**k alone. I am about to unfollow all of you all because that’s all what I see. This s**t is f**king annoying! For three days you all have been doing the same s**t. Did I say I was back together with somebody? Did I said that? No! Don’t tell me to calm down,” she said, as per the viral tweet.

‘I’ve been single for a minute now’
The NYE show comes amid the recent news of Cardi’s separation from Offset, marking the end of their five-year marriage. In early December, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ singer openly acknowledged her single status, disclosing the breakup during a live stream shared on X, as she said “I’ve been single for a minute now.”
She went on to add, “I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings.” A week before the official announcement, both Cardi B and Offset had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
