Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk, opens up for the first time after her husband’s death and issues a tearful address to the public.

According to Page Six, the 36-year-old American businesswoman addressed the nation through a YouTube livestream on Friday, September 12. Erika began her heartbreaking address by expressing her gratitude to law enforcement and the initial responders who were present at the fatal scene and were prompt in trying to save her husband’s life after he was fatally shot on a Utah university campus.

The former Miss Arizona was standing beside her husband’s empty chair, which he would often sit on during his podcast tapings. Before commencing her speech, Erika quoted the Bible and thanked US President Donald Trump, Vice-President JD Vance, and his wife Usha.

“Mr President, my husband loved you. And he knew that you loved him too.”

With tears in her eyes, she added, “But most of all, Charlie loved his children. And he loved me. With all his heart. And he made sure I knew that every day.”

Erika then began her speech with, “Two days ago, my husband Charlie went home to see the face of his savior and his God. Charlie always said that when he was gone, he wanted to be remembered for his courage and for his faith.” She also went on to acknowledge the global support she received in the wake of her husband’s assassination.

However, the address did not just express her bereavement and loss. She also addressed Charlie’s alleged killer, warning, “The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done.”

Talking about Charlie’s mission and what he stood for, Erika poignantly remarked, “They should all know this: if you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea. You have no idea what you have just unleashed on this country.” She continued to forewarn, “the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”

Erika revealed that her husband’s tour of US University campuses will continue throughout the autumn of this year and in the future as well, along with these podcasts. However, how the blueprint will be strategized is still under wraps.

“No one will ever forget my husband’s name, and I will make sure of it. My husband’s mission will never end”, she pledged.

Revealing the heart-rending manner in which she broke the news to their kids, Erika admitted that she fell short of words while explaining their father’s death. To her three-year-old daughter, she said, “Baby, daddy loves you so much. Don’t you worry. He’s on a work trip with Jesus.”

She concluded her speech with a reassuring note, stating that she would “never let (his) legacy die” and added, “I can’t wait to see you again, one day.”

Charlie and Erika met in 2018 and got married in May 2021. Currently, Erika is studying for a doctorate in Bible studies, founded a ministry programme, and hosts the Midweek Rise Up podcast that underscores Biblical leadership, according to the BBC.

Charlie Kirk was a right-wing activist who founded the conservative youth activist organization Turning Point USA. He was shot dead on Wednesday, September 10, during his organization’s The American Comeback Tour, a spoken discourse event that took him to several college campuses in the United States. The assassination took place during an open-air speaking event, a Prove Me Wrong debate, in Orem, Utah, while he was addressing a question about gun violence and transgender community.

The 31-year-old conservative played a pivotal role in influencing the youth towards conservatism. According to the BBC, he was an instrumental organizer in Trump’s MAGA coalition and was responsible for helping Trump return to the White House for the second term.

He vehemently showcased his disapproval of abortion rights, while strongly supporting gun rights and critically inquiring into transgender rights. The snippets of his polarizing viewpoints on college campuses often made their way on Instagram reels, where a cohort of his fans and vocal opponents would gather to engage in a discourse with him. His perceptions often drew sharp criticism from the liberal youth, with his detractors suggesting that he hurt the LGBTQIA+ community.

As per the news outlets, his suspected killer, Tyler Robinson, was arrested on Thursday night after surrendering to the police.

According to the reports, Trump will be awarding Kirk a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is considered to be an epitome of honor from a president, as he described Kirk as a “giant of his generation and a champion of liberty.”
