Chicago Med Season 8 Cast Updates
Kristen Hager is departing from NBC medical drama Chicago Med, but executive producers Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider are leaving the door open for a return. “We all really liked Kristen and would welcome her character coming back in the future,” Frolov and Schneider tell Deadline in a joint statement.
The upcoming eighth season of the NBC medical drama Chicago Med will include Steven Weber once more on the show. In the sixth season, Weber, who plays Dr. Dean Archer, joined as a recurring character until being promoted to series regular in Season 7 under a one-year contract. He has signed a new contract and will be back in Season 8 as a series regular.
Moreover, Marlyne Barrett has agreed to a new, long-term contract that will keep her on NBC’s Chicago Med. For original cast member Barrett, the eighth season of the show will soon start. She portrays Maggie Lockwood, a nurse. S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, Nick Gehlfuss, and Brian Tee, who were in the original cast of the Chicago Fire spinoff from Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, renewed their contracts last year.
