Cobra Kai Season 6: What is the release date?
Earlier this year, the series was renewed for a sixth and final season. Since then, no official confirmation about the exact release date has been confirmed by the network!
But it is speculated that the upcoming season might release sometime around 2024 at the same time slot of 12:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET) on Netflix. It is speculated to take a few months of filming and post-production, which puts the release of the sixth season somewhere next year, making it the ideal time frame to return to this world of The Karate Kid films sequel.
The official Twitter handle of the show also confirmed the renewal, quoting, “Let me ask you: Do you have one more fight left in you? The sixth and final season of Cobra Kai is coming soon to Netflix.” Also, check out the official announcement as shared on Cobra Kai’s Twitter handle below:

Cobra Kai Season 6: What is the production status?
According to Bob Dearden, writing for the sixth season soon began after the renewal was announced, which is sometime around February 2023. Later, during the Atlanta Comic Con, Ralph Macchio divulged that principal photography would commence in late spring, stating that the month of May is the “pencil plan” to get started.
But, sadly, the pre-production and writing sessions for the season were put on indefinite hold starting May 2, 2023, as a result of the Writers Guild of America strike. It has been reported that the sessions will resume when the WGA makes a fair deal with AMPTP. Until any new confirmation about the series’ status, the fans will have to wait for more updates!
Cobra Kai Season 6: What to expect in the plot?
Not much has been revealed, but according to co-creator Jon Hurwitz, the sixth and final season will be set roughly a year after the Season 2 finale.
Moreover, executive producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg confirm in an open letter to fans that they should “strap in for the BIGGEST SEASON OF COBRA KAI YET.” They hope that the news today serves as a “celebration of all that’s come, as well as all that’s still left to be told.” The full letter from the executive producers is below, quoting, “A letter to you, the greatest fans in the world, from the showrunners of Cobra Kai.”
Lastly, as per Netflix Tudum, Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg also invoked the journey of Daniel LaRusso from when he first arrived in the Valley in 1984 to the present day, where he’s helped influence a new generation of underdog heroes, formed unlikely alliances and honored the lessons of his sensei in a dojo of his own. This is the conclusion to the Cobra Kai journey that the executive producers wanted to offer him and Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) — and everyone else in the universe.

Cobra Kai Season 6: Is it the final season?
The reports are true! Sadly the sixth season is going to be the last one for this beloved martial arts comedy-drama television series. Despite Netflix’s conversations with the creators and actors to make a seventh season, the series creators elected to finish Cobra Kai on their terms, stating to Netflix they would not be returning for another season.
At this point, no spin-offs have been commissioned, although the show’s producers have suggested that it may continue in various ways. But, the creators have hinted it’s a possibility, quote, “This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more Karate Kid stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies.”
We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for this beloved franchise!
Cobra Kai Season 6: How many episodes?
The final season will consist of 15 episodes with an average runtime of 22–48 minutes, which is the most number of episodes ever produced in a season of Cobra Kai. Considering that it will be the final season, it’s great to know that the season has been superseded to cover all the crucial plotlines and not leave it out for the fans to guess about after the show ends.
Moreover, all the previous seasons of the show are available exclusively to stream on Netflix. The video quality and the number of screens you can use to stream Netflix simultaneously depend on the package you choose. The basic membership starts at $9.99/month, and the standard membership starts at $15.49/month at no additional cost with any of their services.
Cobra Kai Season 6: Is there any official trailer?
The network hasn’t released any new teasers as the filming hasn’t even begun. In the meantime, check out the official trailer for the fifth season to recall the story, which follows the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town.
