Will Season 6 fill in the gaps that fans have been wanting to know about for years? Continue reading to find out what it is.
Over the past few months, while waiting for the final season to debut, fans have been debating about the potential plot lines that should be addressed in the final season. They are worried that the show’s creator might leave out some loopholes that have been lingering in their minds throughout the previous season.
So, if you are one of those who want to get clarity about what major questions should be included in the very last season of this beloved series, then look no further! We have compiled all of the relevant information right here for you! Here is everything you need to know about Netflix’s Cobra Kai season 6.
Has Terry Silver gone forever?
Last season, we saw the final battle between Daniel LaRusso and Terry Silver, resulting in the villain being cuffed and taken to prison. Despite being arrested, Silver still owns Cobra Kai, leading to much speculation that if Johnny of Kreese were to regain ownership, the villain would likely need to come back in Cobra Kai Season 6 to address this plot.
This isn’t a reach as per the fans because Silver’s epic fight with Daniel had a definitive feel. On the other hand, since redemption has played such a principal role in the series, it may make sense for Silver to have a moment of clarity. Ultimately, Cobra Kai Season 6 could take his character in several directions; only time will tell what the future holds in store.
Is someone else taking over Cobra Kai?
Since Johnny reopened Cobra Kai’s titular dojo back in the first season, it has changed ownership several times. Later it was confirmed that John Kreese took over, but Terry Silver deposed him as chief sensei. Much to everyone’s surprise, Silver was then arrested at the conclusion of Season 5, leaving the dojo in questionable hands.
Moreover, Johnny is now in charge of Eagle Fang Karate, but his success there may make him reluctant to return. Furthermore, John Kreese may wish to reclaim possession, but his status as an escaped convict may complicate this. Nonetheless, the show’s title is Cobra Kai, so it is presumed that the school will play a major role in the final season.
Will Johnny and Daniel fight one last time?
Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso have been feuding since The Karate Kid and have confronted each other several times since Cobra Kai began. They finally found common ground in Cobra Kai Season 5 and are as close friends as they could ever hope to be.
But a critical detail about their many battles in Cobra Kai suggests that season 6 will have one more. Right now, neither Daniel nor Johnny has won against each other in the series. Every match they have played has been evenly matched, leaving the big question of who is stronger unanswered.
Hopefully, Cobra Kai Season 6 will vary this and determine who is the more powerful Karate Kid. For the time being, these are just some of the major concerns which we hope to get some resolution by the end.
Cobra Kai Season 6: When will it premiere on Netflix?
According to Bob Dearden, the writing for Cobra Kai Season 6 is set to begin in February 2023. Moreover, at the Atlanta Comic Convention, Ralph Macchio divulged that principal photography would commence in late spring, stating that the month of May is the “pencil plan” to get started.
Amidst months of anticipation about the final season’s premiere, the network has yet to confirm the official release date. Right now, it is assumed that the pre-production is still ongoing or may be nearing its end to start filming.
Hence, any information on the release date seems way too soon!
But, it is speculated that the upcoming season will not be delayed further and will be released sometime in mid-to late-2023, with December being the likely time frame. We still have to wait before we can watch new episodes, as the majority of websites also seem to concur that Netflix might release the series in early 2024.
Additionally, the official Twitter handle also confirmed the renewal of the show, quoting, “Let me ask you: Do you have one more fight left in you? The sixth and final season of Cobra Kai is coming soon to Netflix.” Take a look at the official announcement below:

Executive producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg confirm in an open letter to fans that they should “strap in for the BIGGEST SEASON OF COBRA KAI YET.” They hope that the news today serves as a “celebration of all that’s come, as well as all that’s still left to be told.” The full letter from the executive producers is below, quoting, “A letter to you, the greatest fans in the world, from the showrunners of Cobra Kai.”
Moreover, actor Dallas told Digital Spy, quote, “Kenny’s heartbroken. I mean, it was a gut-wrenching moment, honestly, because his father figure [Silver] is his leader, the guy that he looked up to, his mentor, and he kind of betrayed him in a sense,” Dupree Young said. “And for Kenny to watch that video and see the evidence, it was just very disheartening. So I think Kenny is in a rough headspace. He doesn’t really know where he wants to go at this point. But I can’t wait to see what happens with him.”
The main cast members who are expected to reprise their roles in the new season are as follows Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, Courtney Henggeler as Amanda LaRusso, Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz, Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene, Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso, Jacob Bertrand as Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz, Peyton List as Tory Nichols, and Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny Payne.
