Ever since Cobra Kai was officially upgraded as a Netflix series after two seasons, its fame has ricocheted to the sky. In continuation of The Karate Kid movies, Cobra Kai is set 34 years after The Karate Kid, focusing upon the rivalry between Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso.
Season 5 of Cobra Kai was recently released on Netflix in September 2022, and ever since, its viewers have been madly anticipating Cobra Kai season 6 renewal.

Has Cobra Kai been officially renewed for season 6?
Currently, Cobra Kai is not officially renewed for a sixth season, which is quite unlike the renewal timeframe of previous seasons, where the renewal status of upcoming seasons would be informed well ahead of time.
The possibility of season 6 cancellation seems unlikely because the creators had planned for the show to run for at least six seasons. In a conversation with Deadline, the American screenwriter Hayden Schlossberg talked about the possibility of a sixth season. He said:
“We have an end in mind. How many seasons it takes to get there, we don’t know. We’re enjoying making it so much. If it gets tiring to us, we’ll stop before that; we have a few more seasons already planned out.”
Based upon the hourly data provided by Netflix for measuring the show’s performance, What’s on Netflix has reckoned the show to have a season 6 “but with the caveat that it may be a final season order. “

With this, the future of Cobra Kai has been put into the dark since Kim Da-Eun has a 50% stake, she might use students from her dojos under the name of Cobra Kai.
In addition to this, there is a possibility of a civil war looming in the Cobra Kai future that can be ignited by Mike Barnes if he leads Terry’s former students to combat the students of Kim Da-Eun.
Season 6 will also observe the rise in power of Kreese now that he has escaped from prison. The only person that he will expectedly turn to is Kim Da-Eun, the granddaughter of his former master.
On a different tangent, Johnny is having a baby with Carmen, and the due date has not been mentioned. This could affect Johnny’s attendance at the Sekai Takai.

When can Cobra Kai season 6 be expected to release on Netflix?
Starting with season 3 in January 2021 till the recent fifth season in September 2022, three seasons of Cobra Kai have been released on Netflix in the short span of twenty months. With that said, Cobra Kai season 6 has not been officially renewed as of yet, which means that the wait for it will be the longest. Not only that, but the showrunners of the show are working on Obliterated, a brand new project for Netflix, which will wrap filming in November 2023.
Consequently, Cobra Kai season 6 is not expected to start filming until sometime in 2023. If filming is slated to start in 2023, it’s only prudent to expect the season to release sometime in late 2023 or 2024.
