Due to “serious anxiety” and “panic attacks that have landed me in the hospital,” country singer Hardy revealed on social media that he is canceling or moving up his upcoming three gigs. The “Wait in the Truck” singer, 33, broke the news to his fans in a statement issued on his Instagram this Tuesday:
“I need to be honest with everyone for a second,” wrote HARDY, whose real name is Michael Wilson Hardy. “I’ve been dealing with some serious anxiety since the bus accident last year, and over the last two weeks it has taken control of my life.” Further adding, “It’s caused me to suffer many panic attacks, which have landed me in the hospital,” he continued. “I need a moment to focus on me and to make myself better for my wife, family and you, the fans.”
He further stated that the Georgia Rodeo performance in Winterville, Georgia, will now take place on April 12, 2024 and that tickets for those two days will be returned at the point of purchase, quote, “Unfortunately I will need cancel the two the mockingbird & THE CROW Fall Tour shows on Oct. 5th & 7th. Refunds for these two shows will be available from point of purchase. The Georgia Rodeo show will be moved to April 12 2024. Hold on to your tickets. They will be valid for the new 2024 date. My plan is to be back and focused on Oct 12. Thank you for understanding, see you soon.”
After looking at this statement, it is important to note that the singer stated that he expects to be in better shape in nine days, when he will resume his fall headlining tour on Oct. 12 in Jonesboro, AR. The ticket holders who aren’t aware of this situation should know that two of the shows have been canceled, which included a planned show in Simpsonville, SC, on Thursday and another in Brandon, MS, on Saturday. A third show that was to have happened in between those dates, at the Georgia Rodeo on Friday, was postponed and has been rescheduled for April 12, 2024.

The timing of Hardy’s current announcement is quite unfortunate as it comes just days after the one-year anniversary of a bus overturning that occurred on I-40 near Nashville as he and three others returned from a show in Bristol, TN. The incident was certainly terrifying for him and his fans, which truly reflected at the time, as back on October 2, 2022, the singer-songwriter shared in an Instagram post that his tour bus was involved in an accident on the way back from Bristol, Tennessee, following a show the previous night.
He wrote, “Following last night’s show, our tour bus was in an accident on our way home from Bristol. There were just four of us, including myself, on the bus, however we were all treated for significant injuries. Our friend, and bus driver needs your prayers as he is still in the hospital. His family is with him while he is being treated and we’re all pulling and praying for him. I’ve been released from the hospital, but ordered by doctors to recover for the next few weeks which may cost us at a couple of shows. My team and I will keep the fans updated on that as I rest in the coming days. Please keep our road family in your prayers and I promise to keep you updated in the days to follow. God bless our medics and local and state officials for their quick response and incredible service.”

There is absolutely no doubt that this delay is a bit heartbreaking because Hardy’s stardom has spread beyond the country music scene! For the time being, we can only hope for a speedy recovery for the musician, just like the way his fans keep reminding him with immense love and support.
At last, his most recent album, The Mockingbird & The Crow, topped the country music charts in early 2023. In addition to this, his crossover single “Jack” hit the top spot in the rock genre in April. The singer-songwriter has also just received four nominations for the CMA Awards, which will be held in Nashville later this year on November 8, 2023. He and Lainey Wilson collaborated on the song “Wait in the Truck,” which is competing for single of the year, song of the year, musical event of the year, and music video of the year.
Side Note: Beyond what the musician posted on social media, his record company, Big Loud, also stated that no other comments would be made. Moreover, Web News Observer has not asked for an official statement.
