Cruz Beckham is putting an end to the rumors suggesting his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, unfollowed his brother, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, on Instagram.
According to PEOPLE, the 20-year-old singer shared a screenshot on his Instagram Stories of a Daily Mail article on Sunday, December 21st, that reported his parents unfollowing his brother, Brooklyn, 26, amid an alleged family feud. Cruz refuted these claims and revealed that he and his parents have been unprecedentedly “blocked” on the social media platform.
On the Instagram story, Cruz clarified, “NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son…Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked…as did I.”
While Cruz did not reveal explicitly who blocked their parents, E! News reported that he seemed to point fingers at Brooklyn for blocking his parents and him.
Considering that the users aren’t notified when they are blocked, while they are automatically removed from the respective following and followers lists, the justification appears to be true.
Currently, David, 50, and Victoria, 51, are no longer following Brooklyn on Instagram, and he no longer follows them. The couple is reportedly following their other two sons, Cruz and Romeo Beckham, on the social media platform. Meanwhile, their youngest child, daughter Harper Beckham, has a private Instagram account.
Additionally, the couple doesn’t follow Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, nor does she follow them back.
The couple has not publicly addressed the alleged family feud and the rumor surrounding why they have ceased to follow Brooklyn and why Brooklyn is no longer on their following list.
Speaking to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for Victoria said that Cruz “was responding to stories that [his] parents had unfollowed their son, which isn’t true.”
A source confided to PEOPLE, explicating that the couple decided to skip the event since Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who was previously linked to Brooklyn, would be attending.
Be that as it may, Cruz replied to a commenter on Instagram, revealing that “Brooklyn and Kim never dated.” Corroborating with Cruz, Turnbull also denied the rumors.
The cracks and the crevices in the family stemmed way back in 2022, approximately around Brookly and Nicola’s wedding in Palm Beach, Fla. The alleged tension seemed to rise between Nicola and Victoria when the actress refused to wear one of the fashion designer’s wedding dress designs for the ceremony, after initially agreeing.
Not only that, but something else also seemed to have happened during their wedding, which exacerbated the tension. A source told E! News in May, “Brooklyn and Nicola were under the impression they were being gifted their first dance by Marc Anthony. Marc Anthony announced, ‘Please welcome to the stage the most beautiful woman in the room…Victoria Beckham.’ Brooklyn wasn’t quite sure what to do and was put in an awkward situation.”
The source added, “Nicola left the room crying. She eventually came back and was able to collect herself to celebrate the rest of her wedding.”
In an interview with the Daily Mail published on September 24, Brooklyn emphasized that Nicola would be his rock-solid support in his life. He said, “There’s always going to be people saying negative things, but I have a very supportive wife.”
“Me and her, we just do our thing, we just keep our heads down and work. And we’re happy”, he added.
