The countdown for the anticipated CSI: Vegas Season 2 finale episode has begun! Here’s everything we know so far about what to expect from the finale episode of CSI: Vegas Season 2.
After a successful run, the highly anticipated second season of CSI: Vegas which started back on September 29, 2022, is coming to an end, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering what twist and turns the finale will bring. Much to viewers’ delight, the final episode, simply titled, “Dying Words,” is now confirmed to air next month on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the same scheduled time slot of 10/9c on CBS and later available on Paramount Plus.
The official synopsis of the episode stated, “The team investigates a murder case that hits close to home for Folsom. When he is forced to sit this investigation out, he does his own digging with help from Trey. Worried Folsom will do something he regrets if he gets his hands on the killer, the team finds themselves racing to arrest the suspect first.” It will conclude this crime procedural, which follows the investigations of the newly-formed Crime Scene Investigation team in Las Vegas.
In light of the fact that CSI: Vegas will conclude its run in a few weeks, details regarding what else viewers may anticipate in the season finale were disclosed in an exclusive report with tvinsider.com. The question that now has to be answered is whether Season 2 will still just include cases of the week. We’d like to warn you that the following passage contains some major spoilers for the anticipated season finale, so read it on your own accord if you don’t want to get details beforehand.
Will the rest of Season 2 be devoted to cases of the week alone from this point forward? To which showrunner Jason Tracey confirmed, “We’ve got some cases, we’ve got another little arc coming to do within this season, we’ve seen how difficult it is for Folsom [Matt Lauria], who grew up in Vegas around some very rough stuff, and he’s got some challenging family members and that’s going to come to the fore.”
Further adding, “We do have plenty of big cases of the week, but we also have the rumbles of and a ramp-up to a very personal finale and I think it might be time to focus on Folsom.” “It’s a little different,” Tracey said. Also stated, “We’re going to ramp to a very personal place at the end of this season. It’s a little bit less a puzzle box and a lot of moody speculation about a big case and it’s a lot more with our characters. What you’ll find with the finale is it couldn’t be more personal.”
“It’s going to be a little bit of more direct connections between Seasons 2 and 3 than there existed between 1 and 2,” according to the showrunner. Folsom also has to deal with his relationship with Serena and whether or not he will be with Allie, in addition to his own personal tale. “There’s no question triangles are fun,” Tracey acknowledged, “but then there’s also the question of, are two people just meant to be? Are they star-crossed?”
He continued, “I think what we in the writer’s room try to do is just invest in the reality of two people who feel a connection, it’s mostly that they exist through work, we saw that in Season 1 between Folsom and Allie, but ships do sometimes pass in the night. I don’t want to say too much about what is coming next because I feel like it’s one of the most organic developments that you owe to the fans, to let it all unspool. They are three characters we all love to write and they offer each other different things. It’s fun to watch them bounce off each other.”
In addition to this, the main cast members who are expected to return in the last episode include Paula Newsome as Maxine “Max” Roby, Matt Lauria as Joshua “Josh” Folsom, Mandeep Dhillon as Allie Rajan, Marg Helgenberger as Catherine Willows, Jay Lee as Christopher “Chris” Park, Lex Medlin as Beau Finado, and Ariana Guerra as Serena Chavez. Moreover, this show is a follow-up to the long-running series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and the fifth series in the CSI franchise.
