As fans continue to speculate about the potential release date, the question on everyone’s mind is: ‘Is there any hope for the network to release CSI: Vegas Season 3 in October 2023?” is still being asked all over the web. Especially after how the last season ended with a major cliffhanger that has raised the fandom’s curiosity even more! To say the least, the fans want to know how the story will evolve, hence boosting their interest in knowing everything!
So, if you want to know more about the next chapter, then we can assure you that you have reached the right place to get all your answers about the potential release date of the much-anticipated third season, which we definitely think is going to captivate the audience once again, just like the prior two seasons were able to do so with so much potential, which the fans truly deserve to see! To say the least, it’s time to buckle up and get ready to know all about CBS’s CSI: Vegas Season 3.
When is the series expected to return on CBS?
Initially, the eagerly awaited new season of the beloved crime drama series was scheduled to make its comeback in September 2023, but sadly, due to the emergence of Hollywood’s dual strikes, out of which the WGA strike has now been resolved, the SAG-AFTRA strike is still being negotiated. It caused major production houses to halt their development of the new season, and now it has been delayed until next year.
Yes, you read it right! CSI: Vegas Season 3 will not be available to stream anytime soon, especially not in October 2023 for the 2023–24 fall broadcast season.
The CBS network has officially decided to postpone the release of the majority of their scripted shows. The network will now include all the unscripted shows along with some reruns for the remaining months of 2023 in order to cover up the empty slots in the fall broadcast season. Due to this, any hopes for the series release this year, let alone any more expectations for CBS to publish new information in the coming months, are way too far-fetched!
We would like to emphasize that the revised schedule also confirmed that the new season will make its official comeback around early to mid-2024!
The release window might end up being around the first quarter of 2024 (January to March) as the ideal release window for it to actually premiere at the same time slot every Sunday night at 10 pm on CBS and later be available to stream on Paramount Plus on a weekly basis without causing any unwanted changes in the primetime broadcast schedule. Hence, we highly urge the fans to follow CBS to stay up-to-date with all the latest information about the filming as it will become available in the coming weeks.
Until then, we’ll just have to wait and see what direction the writers and crew will take going forward! In the meantime, check out the official announcement as shared by the show’s Twitter handle, confirming the renewal of the series, quoting, “Vegas hasn’t seen the last of me yet. #CSIVegas #SeasonThree”

What to expect from the new season?
Despite waiting for a couple of months with a lot of expectations, sadly, nothing much has been revealed about the CSI: Vegas Season 3 new season’s plot in order to avoid spoilers!
On the bright side, we are confident that the overall theme will remain consistent in order to convey the story, which follows: “Amidst the neon lights and long shadows, dark threats continue to lurk in Sin City. Maxine Roby leads her brilliant team of Crime Scene Investigators as they use science to solve baffling cases. This combined force will deploy the latest forensic techniques to do what they do best – follow the evidence – in order to preserve and serve justice in Sin City.”
Additionally, we are certain that this popular crime series will once again captivate audiences as there is no doubt that each new episode will once again transport viewers into a world where every piece of evidence holds the key to solving the most perplexing crimes!
The new season is expected to continue from the second season’s finale episode, “Dying Words,” which ended on a massive cliffhanger and showcased Folsom spiraling into an emotional frenzy when his mother is found murdered inside a warehouse. After reuniting with Trey, they both set out to hunt for the killer. Later, we learn that the episode ends when the main suspect is found dead in a dumpster. Josh surrenders and is arrested.

There can be some new characters introduced in the next season, but for the time being, we are certain that the main cast members from the second season are all set to reprise their roles in the new season, which are as follows: Paula Newsome as Maxine “Max” Roby, Matt Lauria as Joshua “Josh” Folsom, Mandeep Dhillon as Ahalya “Allie” Rajan, Ariana Guerra as Serena Chavez, Jay Lee as Christopher “Chris” Park, Lex Medlin as Beau Finado, and Marg Helgenberger as Catherine Willows.
Moreover, there are many recurring cast members who are also anticipated to join the cast Kathleen Wilhoite as Dr. Diane Auerbach, Sara Amini as Dr. Sonya Nikolayevich, Joel Johnstone as Jack Nikolayevich, Sherri Saum as Jodi Wallach, Katie Stevens as Lindsey Willows, Derek Webster as Dr. Milton Hudson, Rob Morgan as Daniel Jordan, Eric Szmanda as Greg Sanders, Judy Kain as Dr. Heather Chumani, J.P. Manoux as Gene Farrow, and Lolita Davidovich as Jeannette Folsom.
We would also like to highlight that, in order to keep budget expenses down, there may be a cast-up. New rumors and theories emerge each day about the cast members, adding fuel to the already raging fire of excitement! Hence, there is a chance that there can be some new major additions and removals from the main and recurring cast if the show creators want to expand the plotlines, which will be confirmed later once the release date for the new season is disclosed by the CBS network.
Lastly, the series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. CSI: Vegas Season 3 Official Episode Count: Where to stream?
When renewed, the next season was anticipated to include at least 22 episodes, as it was meant to be consistent with its predecessor. But now, the official episode count may vary owing to the delays caused by the dual strikes, which may have prompted the makers to slash the episode count by reducing the season to 15 to 18 episodes so that production isn’t rushed once the actor’s strike also concludes within a few weeks.
As we know by now, the filming is on hold despite the WGA strike finally being resolved, due to which the network has avoided releasing details about the new episodes in order to avoid spoilers. So, there is no way that the network will be able to release any new promo along with the official titles and synopsis of the new episode.
If the readers want to receive updates on any changes and when the show premieres, they can also enable notifications on the respective platforms. When CSI: Vegas Season 3 premieres, it will most likely be available on all prior platforms that have the rights to stream the series, as well as on-air on the CBS website and app. Moreover, the series is currently available to stream on Apple TV, Paramount+, and FuboTV.
The series is also available to rent or buy on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, and Vudu, depending on the viewer’s location, with preferred membership plans that the users can choose from. If you don’t have access to the content because of geo-blocking, we recommend trying out any suitable VPN to stream the series.
CSI: Vegas Season 3 Official Trailer: Has it been released?
As mentioned above, the new episodes have not yet been filmed due to incomplete scripts and the network holding up production for a while until both strikes are concluded. As a result, the network hasn’t published any new official promo for the new season. Moreover, it takes time for such promotional stuff to be published, which usually begins a month or two before the premiere.
So, it is impossible for the network to create and promote a teaser with new clips from the upcoming season to reveal some plotlines. Hence, we urge the readers to wait and be patient for some time and check out the previous season’s plotlines to remember what’s happened so far if you haven’t watched the show yet.
