What is CSI: Vegas all about?

CSI: Vegas Season 2 Finale: Release date, plot, cast, promo, and other details

More often than not, CSI: Vegas is confounded with its mainstream series, CSI, an acronym for Crime Scene Investigation. CSI: Vegas being a procedural forensic drama, is a sequel series to the mainstream CBS original CSI, following a group of crime scene investigators who utilize science-based investigations to untangle murder cases.

Collider aptly summarizes, “CSI: Vegas focuses on solving murder cases, but uses a serialized theme with the cases while having extended arcs that spill over to multiple episodes, different from CSI’s episodic formula, which had the forensic specialists solve murder cases, episode by episode.” This sequel series interestingly features old characters from its mainstream series along with new cast members.

CSI: Vegas is not the only branch shooting from its parent series. CSI also paves the way for different spin-off shows including CSI: Miami with 10 seasons, CSI: NY with nine seasons, and CSI: Cyber with two seasons.

Produced by CBS Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television, CSI: Vegas is internationally distributed by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jason Tracey, Jonathan Littman, Kristie Anne Reed, Anthony Zuiker, Ann Donahue, Carol Mendelsohn, Craig O’Neill, Cindy Chvatal, William Petersen, Steven H. Kram and Steven H. Blume serve as the executive producers of the show.
