Susie wants to host a celebration in honor of Alexander Vindman at Larry’s home in return. Larry converses with Micah Johnson, a Mormon who is the husband of Melinda, one of the councilwomen, at a council meeting. Larry wonders if Micah might be interested in having several wives. When a man hugs him too tightly and proceeds to wander around the event in his socks, Larry winds up stepping in dog excrement and destroying his shoes at a Vindman event at the Holocaust Museum of Los Angeles. Larry also observes Micah with a different woman. After the ceremony, Larry removes a pair of shoes from the Holocaust display as it starts to rain. Mary expresses an interest in Vindman at Larry’s party. Melinda decides not to vote for the repeal after learning what Larry and Micah discussed. On the phone, Larry apologizes to Melinda and commits to giving to their church. Vindman overhears the talk and deduces that it is a bribe. He plans to alert the head councilman, Weinblatt, of this. Vindman also deduces that Larry stole the shoes from the display, which is right.

After being in recovery, Irma finds out that the shoes Larry stole were actually her grandfather’s, which prompts her to relapse into drinking. In order to steal the documents provided by Vindman, Larry travels to Weinblatt’s residence. When Larry leaves the house with the documents, he trips over some chairs and plunges into their pool. Due to Irma’s absence from the council meeting, the vote was deadlocked, preventing the repeal of the statute. While everything is going on, Mary steals Leon’s passport and goes on the trip with Vindman.
