Get ready to laugh out loud because Larry David is back to wreak havoc in the highly anticipated twelfth season. After waiting for a whole year, the network has confirmed that the series has been renewed for a twelfth season. Now the wait has finally paid off, and HBO has finally come forward with some more cheerful news, as it has been officially announced that the beloved comedy sitcom will be returning to our screens much sooner than you anticipated.

Yes, you read it right! It’s time for the fans to mark their calendars and be even more thrilled as the new season will be returning to our screens in February 2024.

The exact release date has not been confirmed yet, but it’s good to know that we finally have a release window to count the days down to once again witness the unique blend of improvisation and Larry’s signature brand of socially awkward humor, which has made this groundbreaking show a cult classic over the years, leaving audiences eagerly awaiting each new season as it is a must-watch for comedy enthusiasts.

The plotlines of the next season have been kept undercover, but on the subject of saying farewell to this series, with Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 being the last one, during a press event on Thursday, HBO boss Casey Bloys announced:

“I was thinking last night that ‘Curb,’ in 12 seasons over 20 years, or something like that, has aired all over the schedule, and it is a highlight wherever it ends up,” Bloys said. Bloys told members of the media that press screeners would be available in the next few weeks. “We generally leave that up to Larry, and I think he’s thinking about what he wants to do,” Bloys said. In addition to this, “He knows it’s kind of been an open invitation, so I think he’s going to decide whether he wants to continue or make this the final season. I would guess before it airs, he’ll decide.”

When producer Jon Hayman hinted in a tweet last spring that the HBO series would be ending with its forthcoming 12th season, rumors started to circulate like wildfire. Since then, the tweet has been deleted, and EP Jeff Schaffer disputed the comments. “Reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. We literally just finished shooting last week. So, yeah, we’re done,” he said, adding that the crew, including Larry David himself, ends each season with the expectation that the series may or may not continue.

If you recall, back in an August 2022 interview with IndieWire, Schaffer said, “When you sign up to do a season of Curb, you’re signing up to do the final season of Curb. And I finally figured out why. It’s because when Larry does a season, he puts every idea that he really likes into that season. So at the end of the season, there’s this hole — there aren’t any ideas that he really likes — so how could he possibly do another season? He’s the only person on the planet who doesn’t think he’s going to come up with more good ideas.”

A source told Variety that David’s current deal with HBO is coming to an end in 2023, which means in order to do a 13th season, David would have to ink a new deal with the network.

The cast members include Larry David as an over-the-top version of himself. The series also stars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis, Vince Vaughn, and Ted Danson. The cast members are expected to reprise their roles for the upcoming season, along with a rotating cast of A-list guest stars. Curb Your Enthusiasm is executive-produced by David, Jeff Garlin, and Jeff Schaffer, while co-executive producers are Laura Streicher and Jennifer Corey.

At last, the entire series is available to stream on HBO along with MAX (formerly known as HBO Max). The viewers can also watch Curb Your Enthusiasm by renting or purchasing it on Amazon, Vudu, Google Play, and iTunes, based on their location and the membership plan they choose from the package offered and the membership plan they choose to opt for the package offered by the streaming platforms. The fans can also stream the series by using a VPN in case the content is blocked because of geo-blocking.
