An upcoming fantasy movie featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Damsel, as the name suggests will revolve around a “damsel”. But with the director like Juan Carlos Fresnadillo who has been nominated for Oscars and script writers like Dan Mazeau, Damsel will not simply adhere to the “damsel in distress” trope. In fact, from what we gather, it will revolve around a powerful and independent female protagonist who does need the “knight in shining armour” to save herself from dragons, when she can defeat the dragons herself.
The logline of the movie reads:
“After first being locked in a tower and then hidden deep in the forest to prevent a prince from rescuing her, long-haired Rapunzel vows to get revenge.”
Produced by Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum under their Roth Kirschenbaum Films banner, the movie is executively produced by Brown, Mazeau, Zack Roth and Chris Castaldi. Garnering yet another Netflix project under her belt alongside Stranger Things and Enola Holmes, Millie Bobby Brown is now touted to be one of Netflix’s most sought-after actresses. Her fans just can’t get enough of her.
Here’s the full scoop on Netflix’s Damsel.
What is Damsel about?
The official synopsis for Damsel, via Netflix, reads:
“It’s a taut contained thriller about a Princess that thinks she is marrying a prince only to be thrown into a pit where she is being sacrificed to a dragon.
