Foo Fighter’s lead singer Dave Grohl’s announcement of fathering a child outside his marriage came as a bitter surprise for his loyal fans putting him at the receiving end of some strong criticism. But no one was as shocked as his wife Jordyn Blum, who he has been married to for over two decades.
On September 10, the 55-year-old Foo Fighter frontman took to his Instagram account to post about the update, soliciting shock and disappointment from his fandom. He wrote in the life update that he is doing “everything I can to regain” the trust of Blum and their children. The couple shares daughters Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10 between them, and have been married since 2003.

A source close to Bloom revealed to People Magazine that the mom-of-three knew about the extra-marital affair and the baby before the musician announced it on Instagram. The insider claimed that Blum was shocked to her core after hearing about her husband’s infidelity. Blum’s source revealed to the outlet, “She was shocked when she found out about the baby. Her friends are like family, and they rallied around her.” Additionally, the source noted that the musician’s flirtatious nature has garnered several obstacles during their marriage, saying, “Dave’s flirty behavior has been a hurdle in their marriage. It’s been hurtful to Jordyn.”
Even though the “shocking news” was a surprise to most, a source close to the couple revealed to People Magazine they were not rattled by his behavior. Grohl wrote in the September 10th Instagram post, “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” before adding, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.” He further adds about Blum, saying, “She’s a great mom and very dedicated to their daughters.”
Right before his announcement on September 10, the couple was seen at Wimbledon Stadium, witnessing a tennis match, while seated beside David Beckham. The date marked their 21st marriage anniversary. Their current relionship status remains inconclusive as Blum’s insider source admitted that the public news is not an ideal situation for their family.
