So, if you’re wondering the same thing, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve compiled a quick summary of everything you need to know about the current status of the series.
Here’s everything we know about Dead to Me Season 4.
Dead to Me Season 4: Is it the final season?
Yes, the series has officially completed its storyline and has now concluded as a trilogy with the brand new third season which aired a few hours ago on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 12:00 AM (PT) or 3:00 AM (ET) at the same premiere time as other shows on the streaming service. Additionally, why will the show end with season 3 Feldman stated that the idea for how the show would end came to her in a flash during production on Season 2.
“I always knew from the inception of the show that I didn’t want it to be a long long-running show,” she said. “Then there was a certain point when we were in production on Season 2 when the end of the show came to me, pretty profoundly, so I realized, ‘I know the story that I have to tell’ and Season 3 feels like the right time to do that. It’s just something that came to me organically, and I tend to try to follow the gut feelings I have.”
According to Deadline, Applegate stated about the decision to end the series, which revolves around her character Jen and Cardellimi’s Judy, “We felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women.” “From start to finish, Dead To Me is exactly the show I wanted to make. And it’s been an incredible gift,” Feldman said. “Telling a story sprung from grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a human. I’ll be forever indebted to my partners in crime, my friends for life, Christina and Linda, and our brilliantly talented writers, cast, and crew. I am beyond grateful to Netflix for supporting Dead To Me from day one, and I’m thrilled to continue our collaboration.”
“Liz Feldman is a comedic force who brings her fresh and distinct point of view to every element of the creative process from inception through writing and producing,” said Netflix’s VP, Comedy Series Jane Wiseman. “We could not be more excited to expand our relationship with Liz and continue to work with her on Dead to Me and future series to come.” Take a look at Feldman’s and Applegate’s reactions to the final season below:

Dead to Me Season 3: A Quick Recap
Since the premiere of the season on Rotten Tomatoes, the third season holds an approval rating of 50% based on 6 reviews, with an average rating of 6.10/10. Whereas, Metacritic has a weighted average score of 70 out of 100, based on 7 critics, indicating “generally favorable reviews.” According to Netflix Tudum, “The final outing of the dark comedy wraps up the story of two friends with a growing rap sheet: Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini), whose lives are entangled with Bad Twin Steve (RIP by bludgeoning/drowning) and Good Twin Ben (both played by Marsden).”
“You’re going to want to see how this one ends,” Marsden promises. But first, a rapid-fire recap: Judy (accidentally) kills Jen’s husband; Judy contrives to meet Jen in a widow support group; Jen (purposefully) kills Judy’s boyfriend, Steve, and buries his body in her meat freezer; Jen confesses to a detective and, assuming she’ll be imprisoned, leaves letters for Judy and her two sons; the detective lets off Jen with a warning (after all, Steve was a horrible human); and in a call-back to Season 1, Ben hits Jen and Judy’s car and drives off.
