“You people made me,” Allen said when asked why he decided to reprise his character at D23. “We thought about this for a long time. The only way I would do this is if [they] answer some of the backgrounds. They answer the questions. I said yes.”
Among the questions that will be answered is why Mrs. Claus doesn’t have a first name, the history of Santa, and whether there have been any human children at the North Pole. You know, the burning questions! “You guys are gonna dig it,” Allen insisted.
The Santa Clauses Plot
According to the official press release by Disney at D23, “Scott Calvin is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially two sons, one that grew up in Lakeside, Illinois (Charlie) and one that grew up at the Pole (Buddy). With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.”

The Santa Clauses: When was it filmed?
In January 2022, it was stated that a limited series based on The Santa Clause films was in the works, with Tim Allen reprising his role as well as serving as executive producer. Originally titled “The Clauses,” the project was conceived with the intention of being released exclusively on Disney+. The series began filming in Los Angeles in March 2022, with J.P. Wakayama serving as cinematographer. Filming was completed in June 2022.
The Santa Clauses Episodes
The exact episode title and synopsis of the season are not released as of September 19, 2022, but they will be disclosed once the episodes start to premiere on the streaming platform. In the meantime, we suggest viewers watch the previous films to recap the events that will lead to and transpire in the new series. The film’s order is listed below:
The Santa Clause (1994): Divorced dad Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) has custody of his son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) on Christmas Eve. After he accidentally causes the death of Santa, they are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa’s place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he’s dreaming, but over the next several months, he gains weight and grows an inexplicably white beard. Realizing that it wasn’t a dream, Scott embraces the new, permanent role he has as Santa Claus.
The Santa Clause 2 (2002): Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) has been in the role of Santa for the past eight years, and his loyal elves consider him the best one ever. But the world of the “Merry Old Soul” turns upside down when he’s dealt a double whammy of news: Not only has his son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd), landed on this year’s naughty list, but Scott discovers that he must marry by Christmas Eve, or he will stop being Santa Claus forever.
The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006): Christmas cheer turns into holiday chaos when Scott Calvin / Santa Claus (Tim Allen) invites his in-laws (Ann-Margret, Alan Arkin) for a visit and must also contend with Jack Frost’s (Martin Short) scheme to take over the North Pole. Scott, his family, and Head Elf Curtis (Spencer Breslin) must join forces to foil the nefarious plot.
