Ending 2023, not on a note with glittery clothes and flashy lights, but with some relaxation and calmness, Dua Lipa celebrates her New Year’s in India. Per PEOPLE, the “Levitating” singer reflects on her experience of getting to “explore, regroup, recharge and restart” in India.

In the post, she shared images and clips of Rajasthan’s folk dance, a photo of her posing alongside an elephant, and a clip of a tiger staring at her in the middle of what seemed to be a jungle. Lipa and her were also captured sitting down together at a temple. The singer was seen admiring the fabulous architecture. The post ended with an image of the pop star riding horseback.

Per Hindustan Times, the “Kiss and Make Up” singer and her family visited Humayun’s Tomb and Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi and spent some time in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

In a conversation with Audacy on the Check-In podcast last month, Lipa revealed that the origin of her latest track “Houdini” lay in “the fun parts” of being single. Ironically, the singer is reportedly romantically associated with French filmmaker Romain Gavras since early 2023.

She said, “You’re discovering yourself, you’re figuring out what you like, what you don’t like, what you deserve, what serves you and doesn’t in certain instances,” while also sharing how her past experiences of being single inspired her to write the song.

Later in the interview, she also shared that singleness can help you “learn so much about yourself.”

“A lot of people wish their singledom away looking for someone else, but I think the whole point of spending that time alone is to really figure out what you need, and who you are in the silence and who you are without someone. That’s the best bit, and then, of course, just enjoying your girl time or whatever it is,” she added.

According to PEOPLE, Lipa is nominated for two awards at the upcoming 2024 Grammys: Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Dance the Night”, a part of the Barbie soundtrack.
