It looks like the Grammy-winning artist Dua Lipa is here to give more surprises, as she has once again captivated her fans with a tantalizing glimpse into her highly anticipated new song on Instagram by captioning the teaser, “I’m not here for long,” with her 88.6 million followers!

In the short clip, the “Levitating” singer-songwriter quickly showcases her signature blend of appealing close-up visuals of her newly bright red-colored hair with a key in her mouth as what seems to be a snippet of a new song played in the background. Though we would like to highlight that the lyrics of the song are not clear as to what the track will be about, it has definitely increased the interest and generated quite a buzz among her fans, as within a few hours, the post gathered about 1.1 million likes.

Many eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the cryptic captions of the post might be some of the lyrics of the song as the singer previously shared another picture with a key in her mouth on Instagram which has now been deleted but can be found on X (formerly known as Twitter) with the caption saying, “catch me or I go…” This once again affirms the speculation that the new single might be drawing close to its release, as these phrases are hints about what the fans can expect from the track.

Earlier this month, Lipa, 28, began teasing her highly anticipated third album, which has been in the works for many years, with new-era visuals by updating her social media layout and music video thumbnails. Overnight, she wiped her entire 1,500+ photo feed and changed her profile picture from the Future Nostalgia album cover to a never-before-seen kaleidoscopic blue image, which can still be seen on her X account (below).

This move sparked a major frenzy among fans to know what’s next in store for this groundbreaking artist. To add more confirmation, the singer, whose last song came in 2020’s Future Nostalgia, shared details of the album in a new profile interview with the New York Times Magazine

If you recall, she was very open to hints about the project as she confirmed that fans can expect the release of her next album in 2024, as well as sharing the briefest of ideas about what the record will entail. “Let’s get out of the way: Dua Lipa is finishing her third album. It’s due for release in 2024 and, despite the trend of musicians announcing and delaying records for years, Lipa will almost certainly meet her deadline,” the article stated.

As for the musical direction of Lipa’s latest offering,  she is experimenting with “1970s-era psychedelia.” Further mentioning, “The next record will still be pop, she says, lest her ‘fans have a meltdown’,” it stated. “She doesn’t want to ‘alienate’ them, although she’s developing a new sound that may be informed less by the house and disco beats beneath songs like ‘Physical’ and ‘Hallucinate’ than by 1970s-era psychedelia.”

Lipa also went on to claim that the record will be “more personal” but refused to confirm any rumor that she is working with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker on it. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she told the publication when asked about this ongoing rumor.

Moreover, Mark Ronson also said that he had heard Lipa’s third untitled album and hailed it as “incredible.”

Speaking to Vulture, Ronson discussed Dua Lipa’s Barbie soundtrack contribution, ‘Dance The Night,’ and upcoming music from the singer. Discussing the music video and how it featured a disco ball smashing, he added: “I think that’s why there’s the disco ball that smashes in the video, right? This feels like her triumphant stomp on that era of her music into whatever she does next.”

During an interview with Vogue that May, Lipa also explained, “I’ve definitely grown up. Overall, whether it’s sonically or in terms of the themes, I’ve matured,” she continued. “It’s like I’m coming into my power and not afraid to talk about things. It’s about understanding what I want.”

At last, the release dates, album cover, and even tracklists of the album have not been confirmed yet, but it is good to see that the artist has begun promotion for the new single, which will continue to build hype among her followers, as there is no doubt that Lipa’s music is a testament to her artistry and has solidified her as one of the most influential voices in the industry today.
