In one segment of the video, Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, are seen as they are sitting alongside McDaid as Sheeran begins to sing, “I know your heart is falling too. Johnny’s in love with your body. And last night, you were in his room. And now his bedsheets smell like you. Every day discover something brand new. Johnny’s beard is the shape of you.” The video concluded with a final picture of Cox and McDaid with the message reading: “Happy anniversary J,” accompanied by a heart emoji. After going through the post one thing is pretty clear this version of the song not only showcased Sheeran’s incredible talent but also highlighted the couple’s shared sense of humor.

At last, for the readers who aren’t aware of this couple’s dating history, here is what we know:
Cox began dating the singer, and songwriter from Northern Ireland in late 2013. Eventually, the couple announced their engagement in June 2014. Soon afterward, they called off the engagement, but the twosome reconciled a year later, and since then they have remained a couple. Their relationship has had its fair share of ups and downs, capturing the attention of fans and media alike.
Despite the initial setback, Cox and McDaid’s love for each other proved to be stronger, leading them to rekindle their romance and solidify their commitment. Their journey together serves as a testament to the power of love, which we get to witness through their eyes occasionally on the internet!
Moreover, while speaking about their romance to PEOPLE in January 2022, Cox opened up about her romance as she shared that their relationship has helped her realize that “love is precious.” She talked about the qualities she loves most about McDaid, some of which include him being “a great listener” and his ability to be “patient.” “He’s a great advice-giver. I love his heart and his intentions. His morals,” she added. “He’s extremely talented and obviously musical, but he’s a poet and a writer. He’s just so smart, and I find that really sexy. And then he is gorgeous.”
Apart from helping his friends celebrate their anniversary, Sheeran shared some more reasons to celebrate that his fans should look forward to!
In his recent Instagram announcement for the release of his forthcoming album Autumn Variations, which is now set to be released by his label Gingerbread Man Records on Friday, September 29, 2023, he shared that the album was inspired by the “highs of falling in love and new friendships among lows of heartbreak, depression, loneliness, and confusion.”
Sheeran later went on to reveal that one of the album’s tracks, “American Torn,” is inspired by Friends, with help from Cox. Also, check out the video post he shared with Cox before he began playing a portion of the song, quote, “Courteney, Courteney, Courteney. I wrote this song inspired by Friends, the show that you were on.”
