After all, the endless drama of the third season was enough to make one wonder when the series would return, which made the fans speculate if there’s any hope for the network to confirm the much-anticipated release date for Emily in Paris Season 4 in August 2023. So, if you have the same questions, then you’ve reached the right place to get all the answers!
Especially for you, we have compiled a list of all the recent updates right here! Continue reading to learn more about Netflix’s Emily in Paris Season 4.
Emily in Paris Season 4 Potential Release Date: When will it premiere on Netflix?
For curious readers, we can assure you that the anticipated premiere date for the upcoming season of Emily in Paris has yet to be disclosed by the network. According to reports, back in January 2022, the series was renewed for a fourth season along with the third season, and the filming for the fourth season was reported to be conducted together, which was a great sign for the series’ timely premiere on the streaming platform.
But later, it was reported that filming for the fourth season has been delayed due to the ongoing 2023 WGA strike along with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon! Hence, this delay will cause a major shift in the premiere of the fourth season, making one thing certain: the romantic comedy-drama television series created by Darren Star won’t be returning to Netflix for the beloved fans to binge-watch all the new episodes in 2023!
We can also assure the readers that any expectations for the network, cast, or crew to confirm any additional details this month are far-fetched as everything has been put on a standstill, and the filming won’t resume once the strike reaches an agreement in the near future. Another negotiation meeting is on the way. Yes, the reports have confirmed that the WGA and the AMPTP have agreed to resume bargaining for a deal that could end the guild’s ongoing strike.
In a message to members Thursday, the guild said that Carol Lombardini, president of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, “has asked the WGA Negotiating Committee to meet with AMPTP negotiators on Friday. We expect the AMPTP to provide responses to WGA proposals.” “Our committee returns to the bargaining table ready to make a fair deal, knowing the unified WGA membership stands behind us and buoyed by the ongoing support of our union allies,” the guild said.
This is a great sign that maybe the parties involved will finally reach a favorable agreement for the writing room to resume the work of completing the incomplete scripts, which will eventually lead to the filming of the new season commencing soon! If you recall, as of last week, on August 4, 2023, the two sides were sadly unable to reach an agreement to resume bargaining. Hence, this update for another attempt at negotiation raises hopes for the possibility of the strike ending soon.
One can only hope for the best and keep their fingers crossed that a good outcome comes out of this!
As a result, due to these unforeseen circumstances, there is a chance the creators might aim for the show’s return sometime in early to mid-2024 instead of a late 2023 release on Netflix. One of the other main reasons for this release window is that post-production also needs time to complete the editing, which can take up to months due to the additional workload. Of course, this is all conjecture, and the network will confirm these details in the coming months as production wraps up on time.
In order to receive updates on when the show premieres, interested viewers can also enable notifications. On the other hand, the episodes are expected to have the same time slot of 2:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET), with every new episode dropping on the same day. Emily in Paris Season 4 Plot: What can the fans expect to see in the new season?
According to Deadline, Star stated, “I think that will be our theme for Season 4. Season 3 was about making choices. I think Season 4 is about how to balance business and toxic relationships because that’s going to be happening with a lot of our characters.” Additionally, moving on to Mindy and possibly the biggest question about Season 4. Will we see Eurovision on the show, and will you film at the real event? To which Star replied, “I don’t know what the details of filming are but I think that our plan is to go to Eurovision next season, we’re all set up for it. And I think we’ve got a deserving song. I love that song, “Mon Soleil,” I think it would definitely be a worthy entry.”
That’s not all! Much to viewers’ delight during Netflix Tudum: A Global Fan Event, which was live-streamed from São Paulo, Brazil, the lovely Lily Collins (Emily Cooper), surprised fans by dropping some clues during the Global Netflix Tudum event. Collins suggested what the next season will answer: “Is Alfie still heartbroken?”, “Will Gabriel get his Michelin star?”, “Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision?”, “Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last?” and the question on all of our minds: “Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?”
Collins also suggested that Season 4 will include “more fun, more fashion, and of course, more drama.” Adding more credibility to the theme for the next season, creator Darren Star told Tudum about Emily and Gabriel’s relationship, quoting, “These are two characters who are star-crossed lovers. They have a lot of passion for one another. They have things that are getting in their way, but, at the same time, I feel like every season, in a strange kind of way, their relationship deepens.”
Last but not least, Lily Collins also stated that in the new episodes, Emily would be heading to a different place! Yes, you guessed it right, a visit to another iconic European city is finally happening in the next season. “We have more fun, more fashion, and of course more drama in store,” she said. Further hinting, “While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season. Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.” Take a look at the official Emily in Paris Season 4 announcement clip as shared on Netflix’s YouTube channel below:

Emily in Paris Season 4 Official Trailer: Has it been released?
Unfortunately, the network has not yet released any new teasers for the new season of Emily in Paris, as the filming is currently at a temporary halt due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike along with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which hasn’t come to a resolution yet.
