“Repete S’il Vous Plait?”
The last we heard of Emily in Paris, we were awaiting the release dates for Season 4 whose renewal was announced back in January 2022 along with Season 3 renewal. Emily in Paris Season 3 graced our screens in the month of December 2022. We expected Emily In Paris Season 4 production to begin by mid-2023 for the series to air in its usual month of December.
However, as you must already know WGA strike broke out in May, wherein the writers stopped writing scripts for several shows. If this wasn’t bad enough, the artists union of SAG AFTRA also joined hands with WGA in the form of a double strike once their contract with AMTP expired on midnight of 12th July 2023.
This undoubtedly created a cataclysmic domino effect wherein writings for the series stopped, actors refused to come to set, and ultimately production for several promised fall series went into hiatus.
We are currently entering the third month of this joint strike, and any indications of an agreement or resolution of some sort seem bleak.
Coming back to our cult classic Emily in Paris, given the current circumstances, fans are left with ONE VERY PRESSING QUESTION: When Will Emily In Paris Season 4 Release?
Keep reading as we answer your most wanted questions relating to Emily in Paris Season 4!
Will There Be Emily in Paris Season 4?
As mentioned earlier, the series was renewed for Season 3 and 4 simultaneously in January 2022. So it is true. Emily is not going anywhere as she will attempt to balance her work-life and personal-life, all while trying to fit into the ethereal City of Love.
Emily In Paris Season 4: Release Date and Time
Just to put this out there as a confirmation. Emily in Paris Season 4 is not coming to Netflix in August 2023.
As of writing this piece, we have some updates regarding the release date. With the strike dragging out to its third month now, filming for Emily in Paris Season 4 has not even taken shape. Forget about the production and post-production time, which, when culminated, takes about a year to complete.
Also, we know the rumors about Seasons 3 and 4 being filmed simultaneously in the summer of 2023 turned out to be false. Ashley Park and Lily Collins attended the Met Gala 2023 in the summer, so it was impossible for them to be in two places at once. Here is a picture to prove it.

This being said, we expected a December release so we could sip on hot cocoa and watch Emily take over Paris again. However, since the strike is invariably stretching to August, the chance of that happening is 0.0001%.
So it is safe to say that we will expect Emily in Paris Season 4 to reach us by Summer 2024 (this is keeping in tune with the time taken to the film, produce and edit a high-production series like Emily in Paris). Also, this prediction can only come true if the issues of the strike are resolved by the month of October at the latest.
Additionally, according to The Wrap, showrunner Darren Starr skipped the FYC event in Paris. There is no speculation on why, but all we know is that he is a part of WGA!
Plus, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu also spoke out regarding the delay due to the strike.

With respect to the timings of the release, it will follow the same pattern as that of the last 3 seasons, which is 2:00 AM (PT) or 3:00 AM (ET), and all the 10 episodes will be dropped together so you can binge watch to your heart’s content.
Until more updates are underway, we urge you to hope for the best and maybe catch up with the last three seasons of Emily in Paris if you are missing her too much!
Emily in Paris Season 4: Cast
There has been some speculation regarding the return of Alfie (played by Lucien) given his exit in the Season 3 finale named ‘Charade.’ Fans have been asking, ” Will Alfie be in Season 4 of Emily in Paris ?”But we know that Emily still has to meet him at work, so there is a good chance we will see him again.
- Emilu (Lily Collins)
- Gabriel (Lucas Bravo)
- Camille (Camille Razat)
- Mindy (Ashley Park)
- Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu)
- Alfie (Lucien Laviscount)
- Julien (Samuel Arnold)
- Luc (Bruno Gouery)
Will there be any interesting cameos in Season 4 ? Any returning characters? Is Lucien’s return concrete?
We don’t know yet, but we will soon find out! Stay tuned to this space for updates.
Emily in Paris Season 4: What to Expect?
Well, we had a fairly good idea about what was to unfold in the next season. However, the cast recently attended an event with Netflix TUDUM, and Lily Collins teased quite a few endeavors that Emily in Paris Season 4 will embark upon.
She began by prompting a few questions that we have been mirroring in our heads for months now,
“Is Alfie still heartbroken?”, “Will Gabriel get his Michelin star?”, “Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision?”, “Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last?” and the question on all of our minds: “Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?”
Let’s break it down.
Is Alfie still heartbroken?
Well, can you blame him? Poor lad did not stand a chance with Emily, who kept her long-term feelings for Gabriel bottled up because she thought it would be ” the best for all four of us.”
Alfie walks off from Emily in the season finale leaving Emifie (not the best ship) fans utterly disdained. Well, we know Emily still has to work with him.
Given Lucien’s return to the show, we can maybe expect a new friendship dynamic. Will they hug it out or ignore each other? Guess we will have to wait to find out.
Will Gabriel get his Michelin Star?
The possibility of this looks ripe. A Michelin star is given to the best of the best chefs, and Gabriel’s cooking is savored by everyone who comes across it. By the end of Season 3, Gabriel renamed his restaurant L’Espirit de Gigi named after his beloved grandmother from Normandy.
We watched as Luc’s ex-girlfriend Marianne (a Michelin star-giver) said.
“Life of Chef Gabriel is about to change. This restaurant is headed for a Michelin star.”
So the answer to this seems pretty positive.
Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision?
This will most likely happen given that Mindy (a.k.a Ashley Park) has stunned the people of Paris as well as us viewers with her magical voice. Especially in the song ‘ Mon Soleil.’
We can’t wait to hear more from Mindy and go to Eurovision with her.
Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last?
The possibilities of this are countless, but we are positive it will last given their erotic chemistry and understanding.
Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?
We left things in Emily in Paris’s finale episode in a bit of mayhem. Camille left Gabriel at the altar, saying he has always had feelings for Emily and that everybody should just stop pretending. Alfie walked away from Emily, saying he did not want to be her second choice. Gabriel and Emily sat side by side and admitted that they always had feelings for each other, and they never went away. Finally, Gabriel dropped a cliffhanging bomb on us, saying Camille was pregnant!
While we may definitely see a steamy montage of Emily and Gabriel rekindling their lost time and love now that their feelings are out in the open, it will not be an easy ride ahead. There is a baby in the equation and Emily and Gabriel’s careers also need great care and attention. Not to mention the awkwardness we might face between the four if they ever come together.
Creator and showrunner Darren Starr told TUDUM in relation to Emily and Gabriel, ““These are two characters who are star-crossed lovers. They have a lot of passion for one another. They have things that are getting in their way, but, at the same time, I feel like every season, in a strange kind of way, their relationship deepens.”
There are limitless possibilities, and we can’t wait to see what pans out.
Other than that, Collins also stated, “We have more fun, more fashion, and of course more drama in store,” she said. Further hinting, “While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season. Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.”
Looks like we are going to Rome in the next season. Things are about to get exciting!
