Queen Latifah and Chris Bridges star in this road trip thriller about a mom of two kids who relocates across the country with her kids and brother. The family’s move to the southland is thrown into complete chaos when they witness a murder on their road trip. Now, the murderer will stop at nothing to find them.

According to the official Netflix press release, “While embarking on a cross-country road trip, Brenda, her two kids, and brother Reggie take an unexpected detour into every traveler’s worst nightmare. After witnessing a brutal murder, the family finds themselves in the crosshairs of a killer. Isolated in the desert in New Mexico and cut off from any help, Brenda must fight to keep her family alive.”

“When I initially read the script, I knew that I needed to portray this family as a regular middle-class family but also emphasize their experiences as a Black family traveling through the South,” Shelton told ESSENCE Magazine. Further adding, “We really wanted to hone into the truth of that experience by making it relatable to what really happens in African-American lives in the United States. Through all these trials, struggles, and tribulations, the family still has fun and love for one another which bonds them.”
