With such massive hype and numerous expectations surrounding the series, there is no doubt that the fans have started to bombard their social media handles with queries relating to its release date, plot, and cast, among other details that are usually kept under wraps until the official announcements are made. So, if you are wondering about the same, then we can ensure you have reached the right place to know it all!
Especially for you, we have listed all the latest updates that have been released right here for Euphoria Season 3.
Euphoria Season 3 Release Date: When will it be released?
We know that the fans are excited to see the next chapter of this popular teen drama, but sadly, despite being hinted that the new season might premiere early, A sudden storm of hurdles in the form of dual strikes, which include the 2023 WGA strike along with the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, has landed on major television networks, which also include HBO and MAX (previously known as HBO Max). Hence, the possibility of the much-anticipated third season airing this year seems unlikely to happen.
As it seems very clear that the network may be deviating from its plan for this year’s primetime schedule. Considering the changes in the 2023-24 television broadcast season, there is no doubt that major networks will undergo shifts in their planned schedules. As a result, the third season is expected to premiere sometime around 2025, which will make the fans wait for the new season a bit longer when compared to the prior two seasons.
On the other hand, to add more confirmation to this subject, recently, while speaking to Deadline, Francesca Orsi stated, “Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on Idol, but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts.” Further adding, “We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on Idol.”
If the dual strikes conclude within the next few days then the crew might begin to finish the incomplete scripts and commence production on schedule. Due to this, we speculate that the filming will also take a lot of time which can last up to six months! Additionally, the editing and other crucial post-production factors will definitely need to be delivered on time if the show wants to premiere by 2025. So, there is a chance this time frame can be accurate, but only time will tell what the crew moves forward with.
At last, it’s pretty fair to say that expecting any new updates in August seems far-fetched! In the meantime, check out the official renewal announcement for the third season: “#EUPHORIA has been renewed for season 3.”

Euphoria Season 3 Plot: What to expect from the new season?
After the third season’s renewal, Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming, stated, “Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form while maintaining its heart. We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.”
The latest reports circulating all over social media indicate that there will be a major time jump in Euphoria Season 3 that could last up to five years. According to Zendaya, Season 3 could potentially “explore the characters out of high school,” suggesting the significance of the time jump. Moreover, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, when asked, “What are you as a producer and an actor hoping to see in season three?”
She replied: “I think it’ll be exciting to explore the characters out of high school. I want to see what Rue looks like in her sobriety journey, and how chaotic that might look. But also with all the characters, in the sense where they’re trying to figure out what to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be. What was special about this season was that we got to dive into [the other characters] in a much deeper sense. I think we can do that again in the third season. There’s so much talent, you want to make sure everybody has the chance to have that.”
Euphoria Season 3 Cast: Who will reprise their roles?
Despite no official confirmation, the main cast members from the two prior seasons who are expected to return in the third season are as follows: Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Colman Domingo, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid, Austin Abrams, and more. Additionally, Barbie Ferreira (Kat Hernandez) announced her departure from the series ahead of its third season.
In August 2022, Ferreira announced via Instagram that she wouldn’t be reprising her role as Kat in the show’s third season, writing, “After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye. I hope many of you could see yourself in her as I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you, Katherine Hernandez.”
In April, Ferreira also addressed her exit from the series on the “Armchair Expert” podcast. She called the move a “mutual decision,” saying, “I don’t think there was a place for [Kat] to go.” Ferreira added, “I don’t know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that. I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don’t want to play that, and I think they didn’t want that either.” She also denied rumors that she had walked off-set during the second season.
In addition to this, it’s also been reported that Heidi Bivens, the costume designer, will also not return for Season 3. Angelina Vitto, her assistant costume designer in Season 2, will take the reins. Lastly, if you have been keeping up with the series, then you’ll know that sadly, Angus Cloud, the actor whose standout role as Fezco on HBO’s Euphoria spurred a quick rise to global fame, has died at the young age of 25. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
Recently, Max included an in-memoriam card to a few episodes of Euphoria as another way to pay homage to Angus Cloud. Viewers will see a memorial to the actor who portrayed fan favorite Fezco whether they rewatch the HBO series’ pilot episode or the Season 2 premiere. “In memory of Angus Cloud 1998 – 2023,” reads the card that also includes a black and white photo of the actor. Moreover, Cloud’s family also issued a statement on July 31, 2023, announcing the death of the actor. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” read the statement.
“As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.” The statement continued, “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.” Closing out the letter, the family said, “We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
Cloud’s Euphoria family also mourned the loss of the actor sharing public statements all over social media, quoting, “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.” Take a look at the post below:

Euphoria Season 3 Episodes: Where to stream?
The exact episode count can differ, as the network might go ahead and agree to make the next season supersized if the story demands. So, at this point, anything can happen, but on the bright side, we are certain that the new season will try to keep at least eight episodes with an average runtime of 48–65 minutes, just like the first two seasons, which premieres one episode on a weekly basis, in order to be consistent in their storylines and keep the fans interested. So, we advise fans to be patient while they await this information, which will be released in the near future.
When released, Euphoria Season 3, along with two prior seasons, will be available to stream exclusively on HBO and MAX (previously known as HBO Max).
On the other hand, international viewers can also watch it by renting or purchasing it on JioCinema (India), Google Play, Vudu, Amazon Instant Video, Amazon Prime, and iTunes.
