Another murder mystery with a new suspect?
Before the production of Hulu’s ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 4 officially commences, the comedy-mystery series creator has gone ahead to announce the casting of this season’s surprise newcomers. Joining the beloved trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez for another round of investigating murder by simultaneously running a popular True Crime podcast about the suspicious murder cases in Arconia is none other than the actress and filmmaker Eva Longoria.
Eva, popularly known for her role in ‘Desperate Housewives,’ while also supporting her recent feature film directorial debut ‘Flamin’ Hot,’ is all set to appear as a recurring character who is said to become integral to the twists and turns of the next murder investigation. However, any major details regarding the new season’s plot and the actress’ character descriptions remain under wraps. Longoria shared the news on her Instagram story, writing, “You guys I’m so excited for this.”

Moreover, recent reports have also stated that Molly Shannon will also be joining the new season alongside Eva, who was announced as the first new cast member for Season 4, in the role of a high-powered LA businesswoman who finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in NY. The season focuses on unraveling the murder of Sazz Pataki, who was Charles-Haden Savage’s identical stunt double from his years on the series Brazzos and its 2020 revival.
Even though the official synopsis of the season has not been disclosed in order to avoid any early spoilers, Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich came forward to reveal some crucial information in a recent Deadline interview which confirms that the spectacular trio of Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) will kick off the new season with a trip to Los Angeles before returning to The Arconia in their search for Sazz’s killer.

The other confirmed cast member who is expected to join the season includes Meryl Streep, the actress will return to reprise her role of Loretta Durkin from the third season after receiving two offers in productions that would require her to relocate to Los Angeles. The Emmy-nominated comedy, produced by 20th Television, is co-created and co-written by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, who also executive produce alongside Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal.
