Psychology is considered as a pseudo-science. It blends science and theory with the world of the other and unconscious. Therefore, many supernatural activities are often explained using Psychology. While they can be a direct consequence or symptom of disorders, they can also be a new lens to look at the other world. How do we know spirits do not exist? A deadly combination would be when religion, an avid believer of the supernatural, meets psychology, and together they find Science.
Evil has been a CBS Network original streaming since 2019, with three completed seasons and 87% Google User Reviews. The show has a hint of drama with the spice of horror. With Halloween month around the corner, fans are wondering if this show would return for a season 4. Is Evil Season 4 renewed or canceled? Let’s find out.

The show was renewed in July 2022 for season 4 and was expected after the inherent success of the three seasons. The official renewal was posted on all social media handles via the Paramount+ and Evil official handles. It was a big golden 4 with all the cast members tagged. Following this, many posts were shared by Entertainment Weekly that hinted at the ongoing shooting and what is happening behind the screens. Though these pictures are not officially part of the Paramount+ press release yet, we have seen them on the official handles of Evil.

As of September 2023, the show is not a part of CBS Network fall releases. The production saw setbacks due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. This came in months after they began shooting, and in an interview with Variety, makers confirmed that filming wrapped up early due to lack of budget and production constraints as there was not enough footage to continue. This hints at a lesser episode count. Hence, we are not expecting the show before mid-2024. The show was also shut down due to a cast member leaving, as “a leave of absence due to a personal family matter,” but the strikes also began around the same time. In May 2023, Starlee Kilne spoke about the wrapped-up season, explaining how “A handful of us walking in a tiny circle cost them the day’s shoot. We were told the producers were pissed.”

Expected Plot of Evil Season 4:
The official synopsis has been indirectly given by makers Robert and Michelle King in an interview with Entertainment Weekly explaining how things will pick off from where season three ended. They said, “One of the things that excites us is going the more normal route with things that are usually very dramatic in horror or supernatural shows. The Omen and The Antichrist have thunderclouds and earthquakes and the horsemen of the apocalypse. But it’s a baby — and babies are nightmare enough. You don’t need lightning and thunder and all that. Babies vomit on their own! They don’t need to have the devil inside them to be vomiting pea soup!” This season’s theme is Science on which Robert comments, “We wanted each episode to look at the limits of science and when it steps over that line into mystery.That can be so unnerving. The uncanny is what really keeps you from feeling perfectly at home in the world.”
The show is about a Psychologist named Kristen Bouchard, who works with a new priest named David Acosta to find what is the logic behind the supernatural happenings inside the Church.
