Fans call out Olivia Wilde for seemingly taking a dig at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance

Olivia Wilde may have some reservations about the widely-discussed romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. On Thursday, the director of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ shared an Instagram story featuring a screenshot of a tweet that read, “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist.”

Although Wilde didn’t provide any additional context, the author of the tweet, “Westword” actress Katja Herbers, later clarified her perspective on her X (formerly Twitter) page, stating, “Taylor would join her scientist at an end fossil fuels rally, and the world would be saved,” referring to the massive influence the ‘Midnight Rain’ singer holds on the planet.

‘I wish Olivia Wilde was in love with shutting up’

Taylor Swift’s devoted fanbase took to trolling Olivia Wilde for her comment on her Instagram story. A viral tweet about the situation read, “I get it but like also…who is olivia wilde to say shit. I dont remember harry styles restoring the ozone when they were dating.” A fan wrote, “I wish olivia wilde was in love with shutting up.” 

A fan noted, “There’s a rooted undercovered hate for taylor in hollywood these celebrities all being shady towards her when she does nothing but support them and show them love is kinda disgusting and i’m not talking about olivia wilde alone.” Another fan called out the director, saying, “Olivia Wilde posting this when she hasnt done a thing for climate change, is a performative activist..attaches her name to any big name celeb.. what a freaking fake af hypocrite.. keep Taylor swifts name out of your mouth loser., and I wish OW would get her own life.”

How are things with Swift and Kelce?

Regarding her relationship with Kelce, a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month, “Taylor’s really enjoying getting to know Travis. They’re taking it day by day, but she has high hopes. She likes that he’s a normal, nice guy. He’s down-to-earth and isn’t affected by fame. She also thinks he’s hot.”

Travis, on the other hand, “is completely smitten” with Swift. “I just thought it was awesome that everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her,” he told his brother, Jason Kelce, of Swift attending the Chiefs vs. Bears game. Travis spoke about the singer again on the siblings’ “New Heights” podcast. “She looked amazing,” he said. “To see the slow motion chest bumps, to see the high fives with Mom, to see how Chiefs kingdom was all excited that she was there … it was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure.”

They were initially linked in July after Kelce expressed regret for not meeting Swift after her Eras Tour show in Kansas City. He later invited the songstress to one of his games. The quarterback’s dream came true when Swift sat next to his mother, Donna Kelce, at the Chiefs vs. Bears game in late September. She continued her support by attending the Chiefs game against the New York Jets the following week.
