What happened to Tank, and will he appear in Season 2 of FBI: International? Continue reading to find out.
There is no question or doubt in the minds of fans that Tank is the most adorable part of the team and the breakout star of “FBI: International.” Tank is played by Green, the loyal Schutzhund that Special Agent Scott Forrester, the team’s commanding officer, almost always has by his side.
When a show decides to add a dog as a team member, it not only creates a connection with the actors but also leaves an impact on the viewers. The same happened in this case, and fans just can’t get enough of seeing the bond between Tank and the rest of the team members of FBI: International. If you are one of those who want to get some clarification, then continue reading to know if Tank will return for the new season or not.
Is Tank returning for the new season?
Yes! Tank will undoubtedly return for FBI: International Season 2 because the adorable dog is not leaving anytime soon. Luke Kleintank, who plays Forrester on the series, has confirmed with Deadline, quote, “Tank’s always there, he’s not going anywhere. He’s at the office busy doing paperwork,” Kleintank shared with a laugh.”
Further adding, “Sometimes he pops in and helps us solve crimes. He’s really a sweetheart. A lot of times with animals, it can be a little hard. We’re writing as much as we can for him. He’s part of the Fly Team so he’s not going anywhere.” He also added, “[Tank] was retired for a second but he’s working his back. He’s an old guy but he’ll come out of retirement.”
What happened to Tank?
The dog in the show quickly rose to the status of a fan favorite. But when a bombing left Tank unsteady, the viewers were concerned about his health. Later, when FBI: International resumed airing after its fall break, we, at last, received some clarification that Forrester put Tank off to the veterinarian before traveling to Bulgaria to break up a hostage situation. Forrester explained to a coworker how he kept his dog from being put to sleep. He also mentioned Tank’s advancing age.
But much later in the season, we see that Forrester discovered that although the dog had survived the procedure when the crew got back from Bulgaria, he wasn’t doing well. They would not fully understand the prognosis, though, for a few days. And just before the show concluded, we saw a few touching images of the unfortunate tank attached to an IV. So, the viewers will finally get to know more about what happens to him in the upcoming season.
Why is Tank a part of FBI: International?
According to showrunner Derek Haas, he states, “We thought it would be fun if Forrester had a dog that had a little history with the FBI,” Haas says. “And it was unique; you hadn’t seen it before. We do have to have a little bit of a signature from the other two shows and having a dog running around with the team we thought was cool. Dick had read this article about these Giant Schnauzers, which are police-trained dogs in Europe. So, that became the launching point and now we have Tank.”
