Many fans are curious to know what the current status of the series is, especially the release date.
So, if you are wondering the same, then you have come to the right spot to learn all about Fire Country Season 2.
Fire Country Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?
It’s time to mark your calendars because Cal Fire is about to make its big comeback because Hollywood’s dual strikes (WGA and SAG-AFTRA) have finally ended with fair deals for writers and actors. Due to this, the production of the new season is expected to commence by late 2023 as the writer’s room for Fire Country Season 2 has already resumed their work on the scripts with the return of all 11-member writing team (and support staff) of the firefighter drama after the five-month hiatus.
Now, months after waiting for some confirmation, the network has officially announced that the new season will be premiering on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the same time slot, 9/8c on CBS, and later all the new episodes will be available to stream on Paramount Plus. The official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle for the show also confirmed the update, quoting, “#FireCountry is going to be hotter than ever. We’ll see you all Friday, February 16 at 9/8c on @CBS”

Fire Country Season 2: What to expect from the new season?
The writers of CBS’ Fire Country recently sat down to give an insight into the second season as they spent the morning unpacking boxes in their new (larger) office space on the Radford lot, an upgrade from the cramped bungalow/trailer they occupied last year. The Deadline report highlights that this move may have been made in recognition of the fact that Fire Country ended the 2022–23 season as the most-watched new broadcast series.
Later, the group teased a bit about what the fans can expect to see in the much anticipated Fire Country Season 2.
“I think that we’re all a little bit like, can we still do this?” executive producer Joan Rater, who co-created the series with star/executive producer Max Thieriot, said — the long break also has its upside.
“We’re all pretty rested,” she said. “And we’ve all read books, and had life experiences.” Said Napolitano, “I feel energized, and honestly, Season 2 is not a continuation of Season 1. It’s the next chapter, and I think, having had a rest from Season 1, we feel like we’re ready to come back even stronger and shock everybody from the second the episodes start to air when we’re finally out there.” Talking about what the writers are cooking for Fire Country is a shocker of a second season!
It was stated that the size of the new season is still TBD, but on the bright side, as previously reported 13 episodes are still being considered realistic to premiere on time. Moreover, co-executive producer Anupam Nigam stated, “There will be fire… and there will be country.” Whereas, showrunner/executive producer Tia Napolitano was a bit more specific and clearly promised some jaw-dropping surprises, which is quite exciting to get the hype built up.
“My goal is to, the first time we see each and every character, the audience will gasp and be shocked, everyone’s story will be very, very surprising from the moment you see them,” she said.
There is no doubt that the explosive finale of the first season sets up multiple questions for the writers, including how to get Bode out of prison. We also got to see that the Station 42 and Third Rock crews face a daring rescue when a massive mudslide tears through Edgewater; Bode’s freedom is on the line at his parole hearing. So, it’s evident that the writers need to up the antics this time around, which was evident ahead of the first day of work!
Later that same night, Napolitano assigned writing tasks to people who would put in more time to respond to those inquiries, plan the season, and produce scripts. “What’s really exciting is that during this hiatus, we all got to think about these characters because they’re so ingrained in our lives,” Sara Casey said. “It’s not like we’re thinking about them for the first time today. It’s like we’re getting to revisit all these people again.”
Fire Country Season 2 Cast: Who will be reprising their roles in the new season?
The main cast members who are expected to reprise their roles are as follows:
Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan (aka Bode Leone), Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez, Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford, Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela Perez, Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards, Diane Farr as Sharon Leone, and Billy Burke as Vince Leone. Other actors such as W. Tré Davis as Freddy Mills and Michael Trucco as Luke Leone are likely to make recurring appearances in Season 2, further adding depth and intrigue to the series.
Additionally, it was also reported that Zach Tinker had joined the cast in an undisclosed capacity.
Moreover, back in March 2023, it was announced that Rebecca Mader and Kanoa Goo would be cast in recurring roles. Mader’s character, Faye, will also play a pivotal part in the storyline, with her serving as the leader of a private concierge firefighting company and developing both a professional and personal connection with Manny. Kanoa Goo will bring his talents to Fire Country as Kyle, an extremely fit swimmer who arrives to participate in a swim clinic.
Kyle shares a familiar acquaintance with Gabriela and seems to take an interest in becoming Bode’s new romantic rival. While Gabriela sees Kyle as a trusted friend, his actions suggest that he might be attempting to win her heart. In addition to this, the series is produced by CBS Studios and Universal Television, with Thieriot, Tony Phelan, and Joan Rater serving as executive producers, among other crew members.
