The official premise of the series:

The greatest love story of all can be between friends. When unlikely duo Tully (Katherine Heigl) and Kate (Sarah Chalke) meet at age fourteen, they couldn’t be more different.

Tully is the brash and bold girl you can’t ignore, while Kate is the mousy shy girl you never notice. But when a tragedy brings them together, they are bonded for life — forever inseparable best friends.

Together they experience thirty years of ups and downs — triumphs and disappointments, heartbreak and joy, and a love triangle that strains their friendship.

One goes on to fabulous wealth and fame, the other chooses marriage and motherhood — but through the decades, their bond remains — until it faces the ultimate test. The series is based on the novel of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Kristin Hannah, who serves as co-executive producer.

After being renewed in May 2021, the series returned to production much faster than other shows, allowing the sequel to be completed on time. Firefly Lane Season 2 is set to wrap filming this month in Vancouver, Canada.

Firefly Lane Season 2 Release Date

Netflix has not released any information because production on Firefly Lane Season 2 is still ongoing until the end of the month. On the bright side, Katherine Heigl responded to a fan in August by tweeting that the premiere “will be in 2022.”

So, fans should take this as a hint because the series has been running for a year, with Season 1 premiering in February 2021. As a result, it appears likely that the series will be able to premiere in the summer of 2022 or much later if post-production takes time.

How many episodes will be there in Firefly Lane Season 2?

There has been no official word on how many episodes will be included in Firefly Lane Season 2. However, we speculate that the series will have at least 14 episodes, similar to its predecessor, because Netflix series usually follow a similar pattern in the number of episodes for their series.

On the other hand, Netflix has not released any episodes titles, but IMDb has updated the page with the following episodes titled as:

  • S2E1 – Wish You Were Here
  • S2E2 – On The Road
  • S2E3 – I’m Coming Out
  • S2E4 – Papa Don’t Preach

  • S2E6 – Reborn on the Fourth of July
  • S2E7 – Good Riddance/Time of Your Life
  • S2E8 – All Apologies

The titles only include eight episodes, which is significantly fewer than the previous season. So, we will suggest fans wait and be patient until the official details are released.
