Wondering when is Gangs of London Season 2 releasing? Check out the latest updates.

Gangs of London is an action-crime drama television series that follows struggles between rival gangs and other criminal organizations in present-day London and is loosely based on the 2006 video game of the same name. It is produced by Pulse Films & Sister and created by Gareth Evans along with Matt Flannery.

The series revolves around the power struggles of the international gangs that control the city of London and the power vacuum that’s created when the head of London’s most powerful crime family is assassinated. Finn Wallace was the most powerful criminal in London, but now he’s dead, and nobody knows who murdered him. His death causes a power ripple in the crime world, and everybody wants to take his place.

The first season of the series premiered on April 23, 2020, on Sky Atlantic and became Sky Atlantic’s second-biggest original drama launch of all time, with a 7-day cumulative audience of 2.23 million viewers for the opening episode. The second season of the series was confirmed in 2022, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what the creators have in store for us this time.

Gangs of London Season 2 Trailer

A teaser trailer was released by Sky TV four months ago that gives us a glimpse of the world of crime and thrillers we get to experience in the upcoming season.

Check out the teaser trailer below:

Gangs of London Season 2 Plot

Gangs of London Season 2 has been described as:

“Since the collapse of the Wallace Dumani empire, the order is lacking, and the energy and chaos of a gold rush threaten the city with gangland anarchy. The Investors are viewing the city as a place of ruin and decide enough is enough. Licensing a new gang to restore stability, drama instead ensues. These brutal enforcers bring a new kind of authority, coldly designed to terrorize the other gangs into submission. Anyone doing business in the city must now go through them, and our gangs must decide where their loyalties lie if they are to survive.”

The biggest question is, has Sean survived or not? And if he’s dead, how do the rest of the gangsters react as a result? The relationship between undercover cop Elliot and Shannon, Ed Dumani’s daughter, will be explored more in the upcoming season.

Gangs of London Season 2 Cast

The main gangsters are expected to return for the next season. However, whether Sean, played by Joe Cole, will return or not is still not clear. Last we saw of him, he was lying in a pool of his own blood, and he won’t be back if he didn’t survive the attack.

“It was planned from the start that Sean Wallace would die… He’s shot and he’s killed,” co-director Corin Hardy told Den of Geek.

Sean’s mother, Marian (Michelle Fairley), faked her death, so she’ll be there in the next season along with Elliot (Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù), Alex (Paapa Essiedu), Ed (Lucian Msamati), Shannon (Philippa Bennett-Warner), Finn’s mistress Floriana (Arta Dobroshi), Lale (Narges Rashidi), Asif (Asif Raza Mir), Luan (Orli Shuka), Mosi (Richard Pepple) and others.

Talking to Den of Geek, co-director Xavier Gens also said there will “probably [be] a new, big antagonist,” adding: “We need to create a new one because the body count of the first season is quite elevated.”
