On August 29, 2022, it was announced the third season would premiere on Friday, October 21, 2022, and would have a new cast. It is scheduled to follow the pattern of the first two seasons, as the new episodes will air every Friday until the season’s conclusion.

Ghostwriter Season 3 Plot
When a ghost haunts a neighborhood bookstore and starts releasing fictional characters into the real world, a group of friends works to solve an exciting mystery surrounding the ghost’s unfinished business. While tackling the big mystery, the young heroes embark on six curious adventures with characters inspired by L. Frank Baum’s story “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”; author Pablo Cartaya’s “Leo! El Magnfico”; Beverly Cleary’s novel “The Mouse and the Motorcycle”; Mick Jagger and Keith Richard’s song “She’s A Rainbow”; E.B. White’s book “Charlotte’s Web”; and Jewell Parker Rhodes’ tale “Bayou Magic.”
The Emmy Award-winning series, which has also earned a highly coveted Prix Jeunesse Award, a Parents’ Choice Gold Medal Award, and recognition from Common Sense Media since its debut, was developed for television by J.J. Johnson and Andrew Orenstein with Academy Award-winning and DGA Award-nominated Luke Matheny directing five episodes from the season.
Ghostwriter Season 3 Cast and Crew
Matheny and Orenstein are executive producers alongside Johnson, Christin Simms, and Blair Powers for Sinking Ship Entertainment and Kay Wilson Stallings for Sesame Workshop. The director is Luke Matheny, and the writer of the series is Andrew Orenstein. The all-new season of the modern-day “Ghostwriter” will feature an entirely new cast and epic literary adventure.
The show stars Princess K. According to the synopsis of the episodes, “While looking for the characters believed to be released from The Cobalt Mask, a strange cabbie stalls his car across from the bookstore, and Learning that Frank is actually a spy, the kids follow him to the end of his route.”
Episodes 5, 6, and 7: The Case Of The Missing Ghost – October 9, 2020: The episodes are directed by Stephen Reynolds and written by Aminta Goyel. According to the synopsis of the episodes, “Gender-flipped versions of Sherlock and Watson show up at the bookstore and help narrow down the identity of Mason Briggs. Followed by Upset at learning Shirl Holmes is still alive, Watson decides to leave her on her own to solve the case, and Holmes and Watson help narrow down the location of Mason Briggs’s house as seen from the vision in, ‘A Sparkly Ghost.'”
Episodes 8, 9, and 10: Ghost Castaways, Part 1, 2, and Part 3 – May 7, 2021: According to the synopsis of the episode, “The kids are still on the hunt for the missing manuscript. Ghostwriter sails in to help—with a most peculiar vessel, and Ruben’s lost in time. To get him back, Chevon, Curtis, and Donna need to decide if a pirate’s life is for them. Followed by the kids are in a race against time to find the missing manuscript before Captain Vincent can get to it.”
Episodes 11 and 12: The Ghost Writer – May 7, 2021: According to the synopsis of the episode, “To solve a mystery involving famed private eye Owen Quinn, the kids must enter the book and become its characters. A stolen art exhibit called The Cobalt Mask is found in Quinn’s office. The kids question his innocence, and followed by the kids have a plan to save the bookstore, but it means finishing Mason Briggs’ last manuscript, which won’t be easy.”
