Netflix announced the official renewal in April 2021, but the delayed shooting will now release the show much later, maybe even in mid of 2022. It was expected to return in February, which is no more the case, of course. Another bad news is that Ginny and Georgia Season 2 isn’t coming in April, too. Disappointed? The show is about a 30-year-old Georgia being a mother to half her age, Ginny, and an even younger Austin. But fun fact, Ginny is much more mature than her mother and a pro at taking care of everything; whether it is her mother’s multiple ex-husbands or her dark past of being sexually assaulted, the mother-daughter duo share a powerful bond. But, this is a sitcom, see how a growing up Ginny feels restricted in her mother’s world and how Georgia’s mistakes have pushed her children away. When it is found in the end that Kenny was murdered by Georgia for harassing Ginny, the latter chooses to run away and free herself from the shackle of being the ‘Perfect’ daughter.
The story that rather looks sad and serious is a mockery of the world of teenage pregnancies, unstable relationships, and men with red flags. It is often said that a child is a mother’s best friend and this show is a good reminder of that, so add Ginny and Georgia Season 2 to your binge watch list if you haven’t yet.
