Dropped globally on Netflix on January 5, 2023, the second season of Ginny & Georgia is as promising as its predecessor. However, as of now, we don’t see an altercation online in the series with any of the mainstream pop singers. Yet.
Debuted in February 2021, Ginny & Georgia is about an “angsty, awkward 15-year-old Ginny Miller (who) often feels more mature than her 30-year-old mother, the irresistible, dynamic Georgia Miller. After years on the run, Georgia desperately wants to put down roots in picturesque New England and give her family something they’ve never had: a normal life.”
Ever since its premiere on Netflix, the second season of this comedy-drama has rightfully made its place in the Netflix top 10s. This leads to the brewing question in the minds of the fans: will there be a third season of Ginny & Georgia?
Here’s everything we know so far about Ginny & Georgia season 3.
Has Ginny and Georgia been officially renewed for a third season?
Although the show has gained massive popularity with the promising second season, the show has not been renewed for a third season as of yet. However, What’s on Netflix contends that “Ginny & Georgia will likely be getting a third season, given its early performance.”
When it comes to a renewal of any season, Netflix takes into consideration a variety of factors that determine the fate of the show, including viewing hours, number of people watching, completion rates, and more. However, the streaming giant continues to maintain discretion regarding the determining factors that are at play for renewing the season.
In an interview with Deadline, Sarah Lampert, one of the showrunners for the series, mentioned that a renewal decision has not been made as of yet. She said:
“… no, there’s been no talks with Netflix about Season 3. They’re very regimented about how they do things. So there’s very much a strategy in place where I think we’ll drop it, and then we have to wait to see how it does and if we’re going to see Season 3 but I certainly hope we do because it’s going to be a wild ride.”
What is the overall performance of Ginny & Georgia season 2 on Netflix?
In the first week of season 2’s release, the show was 200M hours away from beating season 1; once that happens, all the doubting ringing and the ambiguity of the renewal will be washed away and the fans will get one more treat from the creators of the show.
Not only that, but the reports also point to the increased viewership of season one ever since season 2 premiered. As reported by What’s on Netflix, “Season 1 picked up 44.37 million additional hours in the week that season 2 was released.”
What’s more, the Top 10 report for the week ending January 8th, Ginny & Georgia was touted to be “the best launch for a returning English-speaking series released on a Thursday.”
What can we expect to happen in Ginny & Georgia Season 3?
In the second season, we saw the exorbitant and lavish wedding of Georgia and Paul which does not quite end on a happily-ever-after note. We don’t see the romantic boat sailing in Ginny and Marcus’ life, again. The arrival of Gil, the intricate relationship that Georgia shares with Austin and Sara Waisglass, the MANG queen bee Max, eventually getting back together with her ex, makes the lives of the characters as scattered as the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that can only be fitted in the upcoming installment.
Season two ends on a cliffhanger with the wedding being cut short as Gabriel and the police crash into the venue and Georgia is arrested. Under what charge? She allegedly murdered Cynthia’s husband, Tom.
What?! I mean, who in the world would have thought that season 2 would end on such a flabbergasting note?
In an interview with DigitalSpy, Nathan Mitchell, who reprised the role of Zion Miller, said:
“I’d love to see where things go with Simone. I think it’s always fun when you throw Georgia in the mix there, where you have those three together, and have them navigate this new dynamic that they exist in.”
On a more romantic front of the series, this is what Antonia Gentry and Felix Mallard had to say about their characters’ relationship, with EOnline, “I think they’ll always be in each other’s lives… They have something extremely special: They have an understanding between each other, and that no one else really has.”
In conversation with The Wrap, Debra Fisher teased, “We know where Season 3 begins and ends and we know the end game.”

When can we expect Ginny & Georgia Season 3 to release on Netflix?
Owing to the lack of confirmation regarding the renewal of the third season, it’s difficult to presume the release date of the same. However, we take an educated guess based on the release date schedules of the previous seasons (the first being announced in April 2021, followed by the latter in January 2023), we expect the potential third season to release sometime by mid-2024. But that will only happen if we’re lucky.
