Loved watching Kpop Demon Hunters? Then, you must have loved the film’s peppy numbers too! One of them is Golden, sung by Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami for the fictional girl group HUNTR/X.
If you loved this track too, then there’s some good news. Recently, Golden has achieved the no. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Well, the record doesn’t end here because it has also become the 9th K–pop related song to have topped the Billboard chart.
With this, Golden has joined songs like BTS’s Butter and Dynamite to be listed on the Hot 100 chart.

The achievements do not stop here!
According to Billboard, Golden also garnered nearly 32 million official streams in the first week of August.
In an interview with BBC, Maggie Kang, the Korean-Canadian co-director of the film, shared something special about the songs of Kpop Demon Hunters, including Golden. She said, “Unlike other animated films, where songs are often added as a filler or commercial hook, the music here was woven into the narrative in a way that enhanced it rather than distracted.”
Meanwhile, Golden is not the only track from the fantasy film to have entered the Billboard 100 chart. Another track, Your Idol, by Saja Boys, has also grabbed the eighth position on the same chart.
Earlier, both Golden and Your Idol topped the US Spotify charts in July. With this, they also beat real-life K-pop bands BTS and BLACKPINK.
Golden also ranked at the number one spot on the Official UK Singles Chart in August. It became the second K-pop single to achieve such a feat, after Psy’s Gangnam Style in 2012.
Billboard record continues
With the recent milestone, Golden has officially dethroned Alex Warren’s Ordinary, which had earlier topped the Hot 100 for nine of the past 10 weeks. As of now, the Atlantic rising star’s song of the summer has moved to the No. 2 position on the same chart.
In other news, Kpop Demon Hunters, the musical fantasy film and its soundtrack, have become two of the biggest unexpected hits this year, especially on Netflix. The animated feature has already achieved the No. 4 spot on the streaming platform’s most popular English-language films list with over 158.8 million views.
Given its success, select movie theaters in the U.S. and Canada are set to host sing-along screenings of K-Pop Demon Hunters on August 23 and 24, with tickets going on sale on August 13 at 9 am ET.
