After 10 back-breaking and hilarious episodes with the cast, the second season of Grand Crew officially came to an end on April 28th, with its season finales, episode 9 “Wine & Journals” and episode 10, “Wine & Tastings.” To the fans’ anticipation, the plotlines of the majority of the characters did not culminate into a satisfactory resolution or a resolution at all. This begs the most burning question: Will there be a Grand Crew season 3?

For those unversed, Grand Crew is a comedy series airing on the NBC television network, starring Echo Kellum, Nicole Byer, Aaron Jennings, Justin Cunningham, Carl Tart, and Grasie Mercedes.

As per the TV Series Finale, “The story revolves around a group of young professionals in Los Angeles who are all trying to navigate the ups and downs of life and love. One way or the other, they always find time to gather at their favourite bar to “wine down” and unpack it all. Noah (Kellum) is a hopeless romantic who’s too eager to settle down. His sister Nicky (Byer) is a go-getter in real estate who’s also adventurous in romance. Meanwhile, Sherm (Tart) is a low-key genius who plays the dating odds. There’s also Anthony (Jennings), whose true love is his career, and Wyatt (Cunningham), who’s relieved to be married and out of the dating scene. And finally, there’s Fay (Mercedes), who’s recently divorced and looking to start fresh in the City of Angels. These friends prove that life may have its challenges but it’s always better with your crew.”

That being said, let us go back to the previous question, discussing the fate of the show. Has NBC renewed Grand Crew for a third season?

However, before we begin to address it, let us first know the reception that Grand Crew season 2 has received.

As per the reports, the second season of Grand Crew has managed to garner an average of 0.17 ratings in the 18-49 demographic and 1.15 million viewers. Unfortunately, in comparison with its predecessor, this is a 42% plummet in the demo and 29% in viewership in the live+same day ratings. Although these numbers do not indicate further delayed or streaming viewing, they offer a sufficient window to judge how a show is performing, especially in relation to others on the same channel. Similar to Netflix, NBC also considers a slew of other determining factors for ascertaining the show’s fate. As is the case in other streaming platforms, NBC also chooses to renew the higher-rated series over the lower-rated ones which are undoubtedly cancelled.

What can we expect to happen in Grand Crew Season 3?

In “Wine & Journals” the fans catch of glimpse of Noah (Echo Kellum) following the directive of his therapist and keeping a personal journal. Interestingly, this journal has turned more into a screenplay rather than a typical diary. Towards the end of the finale, we see that it has transcended the subjectivity that is associated with a diary and has become an objective manuscript titled, A Hopeless Romantic…and the Friends That Gave Him Hope. If the show is renewed for a third season, we can expect it to delve more into this manuscript and Noah being fame on a much larger scale as an author.

With Wyatt and Kristen, things appear to be more amicable and homely. Towards the end of the season, the couple took in Wyatt’s young niece-cousin, Nadine, owing to her mother’s difficult position in life. At first, the couple seemed to have some problem emotionally connecting with Nadine, but by the finale, they embraced their newfound roles as parental figures. In the potential third season, the plot could underscore the new relationship between these three, with Nadine getting a more permanent spot in their home.

One of the most memorable moments during “Wine & Tastings” was when Anthony (Aaron Jennings) and Nicky (Nicole Byer) came across his ex, Talia. The awkwardness between them was exacerbated to another level when Talia revealed to Nicky that Anthony is on the verge of being laid off from the firm. Nicky motivated her work-obsessed boyfriend to focus on spending one year of severance to work on himself and find happiness outside his career. The third season (if there will be one) will certainly emphasize the future of Anthony and what he prioritizes.

The subsequent season will also underscore Sherm, who with his natural knack for wine-tasting and an immense knowledge pool about wine, got himself an apprenticeship offer at a French wine school. Be that as it may, he was inclined towards rejecting it in favour of expanding his successful driving business. But thanks to Noah, he decided to pursue it because he clearly loved it. The third season will then emphasize Sherm and his relationship with all things wine.

With that said, will the third season of Grand Crew be in Paris? We have to wait and watch, it seems!
