When will Greg Germann return in Season 19’s new episodes? Here’s everything we’ve learned thus far.
Attention, Grey’s Anatomy Fans! We have some great news to tell you. After a long time, Germann will finally return as a guest star in the ongoing season this November. According to TVLine, Greg Germann is set to reprise his role as Tom Koracick in November in the fifth episode, “When I Get to the Border,” which will be released on November 3, 2022. The episode will be directed by Jesse Williams and written by Julie Wong.
We know that Germann exited what had been a series regular role in Season 17 when Koracick opted to travel to Boston to assist Jackson in managing his mother’s Catherine Fox Foundation after winning his battle with COVID but losing Teddy to Owen. It is the same episode that also marked Williams’ return as Jackson Avery.
As per the report, for the November 3 episode, Koracick reaches out to Catherine (who is in Boston) regarding a personal matter. Meredith, meanwhile, also spends the episode in Boston, catching up with Jackson. After exiting the show last year, Germann joined the second and final season of Netflix’s Firefly Lane in a recurring role. Even the Ally McBeal vet also turns up in this week’s episode of The Good Fight.
Moreover, when Germann’s departure was announced in May 2021, showrunner Krista Vernoff first teased that he would eventually return to the show, stating, “Greg Germann is a comic genius and we are so lucky that he brought his talents to our show these last few years,” Vernoff said at the time. Further stating, “We will miss Greg terribly in the day-to-day – but we plan to see Tom Koracick again!”
As stated by Collider, Koracick will be contacting Dr. Catherine Avery, who is presently in Boston, over a personal situation, which makes things intriguing because his ex-girlfriend Teddy is currently going through a hard patch with her husband, Owen. Koracick had left Grey Sloan to work for the Catherine Fox Foundation, a non-profit founded by Dr. Jackson Avery to repair the memory of the Harper Avery Foundation, which had been soiled by Harper Avery’s repeated sexual harassment allegations.
