This petition aims to identify the legal parents of the children when they are not married. It is unsure if there has been any response from Musk about the case filings. Moreover, Grimes has not requested child support or custody rights at this time.
Exes Grimes and Musk share three children
Grimes, 35, and Musk, 52, have had an on-and-off relationship since they began dating in 2018. The pair separated in 2021 and has not reconciled since. During their time together, they became parents to three children. Their firstborn, a son named X Æ A-Xii, was born in May 2020.
In December 2021, the couple quietly welcomed their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, also known as Y, via surrogate. Additionally, it was revealed in September that they had secretly welcomed a third child, a boy named Techno Mechanicus, affectionately called Tau, though his exact birth date remains undisclosed.
Grimes pleads to see her son
The petition comes shortly after Grimes publicly pleaded with Elon Musk on Twitter to allow her to see their son. This Twitter exchange followed journalist Walter Isaacson’s sharing photos of Musk’s twins with Shivon Zilis, who shares twins with the billionaire.
In response to these photos, Grimes expressed her desire to see her son and asked Zilis to “unblock” her. Later, Grimes clarified that she reached out to Zilis with the intention of “de-escalating” the situation. Zilis responded positively to Grimes’ outreach, indicating that things had ultimately worked out for the best.
Musk is a father to 11 children
