Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie are strengthening their girl code via ‘exes and ohs’ talks.

Berry recently touched upon her relationship with Jolie as they prepare for their next project together, a film called Maude v Maude, where the two legendary actresses are co-starring and co-producing. She opened up about their distinctive bonding experience with Variety, where she stressed that she is excited to collaborate with the ‘Maleficent’ star.

She states, “We had a rocky start and I think that is going to serve us well in our screen time together,” and then continues saying that she is “thrilled to work with another woman and craft a story with our sensibility and from our point of view. She is formidable.” While the outlet failed to squeeze out the tea over their said ‘conflict,’ the ‘John Wick’ actress gave us a tidbit on how their relationship strengthened.

Berry revealed, “We’ve been talking a lot about divorces and exes,” adding, “We bonded, let’s say that.” Berry’s previous marriage was to Oliver Martinez, and thereafter, they filed for divorce, eight years after which it was finalized. Jolie, on the other hand, was married to actor Brad Pitt and filed for divorce after four years in 2016. They are still butting heads in a legal battle.

Berry further explains that the movie, with a mixture of comedy, Mr & Mrs Smith and Mission: Impossible, will include the two women fighting “physically and intellectually,” but it is also heartwarming. She states, “It’s a love story at its core but it deals with the supernatural, time travel and the future.” It was also revealed that the location is yet to be decided.

Berry explained, “We plan on going all around the world,” adding, “Warner Bros. bought our screenplay and, for us, it is about going places that have never been shown on screen before.”  On Wednesday, the ‘Catwoman’ actress took to her X(formerly known as Twitter) account to reveal her fan’s response to her upcoming project tease.

She wrote, “Someone just tweeted a ‘mother off’ and I’m laughing so hard right now. Glad you guys are just as excited about this project as I am.”

Berry initiated her directional debut with the 2020 film Bruised, which starred her as an ex-MMA fighter on the path to redemption, and recalled the organizational process as ‘hell.’ She said, “Because I was a woman, and a Black woman, the treatment I received and the things I had to put up with were unconscionable,” adding, “If I were a white man or even a Black man, it would have been easier. It’s amazing I even made it and a miracle Netflix bought it.”
