Heartstopper is a coming-of-age romance television series developed for Netflix based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman.
The story revolves around Charlie Spring, who is openly gay and has a small group of friends who are borderline outcasts. His life changes when he meets Nick Nelson, the school’s cute star player on the rugby team. Nick is believed to be straight, so Charlie’s feelings seem futile at first, but it is difficult for him to just forget him. Eventually, they come close, and that’s when the problems and obstacles in their love story begin. The story is all about these two teens navigating their way through the homophobic people in society.
The story looks promising, and when it comes to queer YA series, Netflix usually gets things right, just like in the case of Sex Education. It’ll be interesting to watch how these boys will face the problems in their relationship, and is there a happily ever after for them?

Check out the trailer below:
The trailer is so heartwarming and the chemistry between the main characters is off the charts! The trailer also focuses on the obstacles queer people must face while trying to find out who they are, just like in Charlie’s and Nick’s case, which comes in the shape of judgment from their friends and family and the cruel expectations of what it means to be a man and masculinity. We’re very excited to finally watch something cute and light yet revolutionary.
