“You don’t get to make me feel like crap anymore just because you hate yourself,” says one of our favorite characters to another in an argument that melts our hearts away. While we are still growing up, teenage experiences remain closest to our hearts. Those naughty corridor pranks to fun high school days, we miss it all. The fear of adulthood never grips us enough; we want to believe in romance and everything in between.
Netflix actively engages with the LGBTQ+ community and comes up with shows that help them understand sexuality better and give them education and a pathway to feel supported if and when they want to come out. Being closeted is never easy, and as our dear friend Charlie says, “And Bisexual people exist,” we realize that it is okay to be different, and it is also okay to have the freedom to love who you want to.
With these butterflies in our stomachs and the cry for a teenage romance, we started engaging with Heartstopper, one of Netflix’s chartbusters, that is returning for season 3. Here is all we know so far.
Renewal Status of Heartstopper Season 3:
To those who have fallen in love with Nick & Charlie, cried watching Alice Oseman's magical story brought to life, or felt represented for the first time on-screen, I am elated to announce…
Heartstopper has been renewed for TWO MORE SEASONS! 🍂 🍂 https://t.co/m3LbFiV8v6 pic.twitter.com/Dyc4MBjQaV
— Netflix (@netflix) May 20, 2022
The show had been officially renewed for a new season under Netflix’s TUDUM, and the makers made it official on May 20, 2022, with the following quote: “We were overjoyed with the global reaction to Heartstopper and can’t wait to continue the story with two more seasons. Watch this space!”
Here is all we know about what is happening post-renewal
- The scripting has already begun, and the first episode is called ‘Love’
- This Alice Oseman-created series will carry from where season two ended
- The premise of this season is all about love and for love
- The show is based on a comic by the same name, and there are chances the story can be taken out of there with modifications and adaptations of their own
Heartstopper Season 3 Expected Release Date:
The show has not come up with an official teaser, announcement, trailer, or release date to tell us what is happening. However, we know post-production processes are on, and considering the WGA and SAG-AFTRA Strikes, a slight delay can be expected. We can expect the show to be out by 2024, as season two came out in August 2023.
Expected Cast of Heartstopper Season 3:
Based on a webtoon and graphic novel by the same name, it sees the following people bring these characters to life,
- Kit Conor as Nick Nelson
- Joe Locke as Charlie Spring
- Yasmin Finney as Elle Argent
- Seastian Croft as Ben Hope
- William Gao as Tao Xu
- Jenny Walser as Tori Spring
The show premiered first in the UK on April 22, 2022, and has an IMDb rating of 8.6/10, a Rotten Tomatoes score of 98%, and 97% Google-like reviews. This shows how much the audience loved the show.
Heartstopper Season 3 Expected Plot:
While Charlie and Nick keep falling more in love with each other, they engage in a heartfelt dialogue that is bare with honesty and hard-hitting reality. It is a sonnet of adoration and an unfinished confession by Nick to Charlie. With the three golden words hanging in the air, Charlie types I Love You with a glint in his eye but is in two minds before hitting the send button. The conclusion is similar to the comics capturing Charlie’s dilemma. Season three would carry off from there, where these three words and their confession can change everything for these boys.
The official synopsis of the show reads, “Teens Charlie and Nick discover their unlikely friendship might be something more as they navigate school and young love.”
The show sees the power of being closeted, the faith of coming out to your loved ones, and the support one deserves for holding in so strong.
