Henry Cavill to be back as the mighty Superman in Man of Steel sequel

After multiple rumors and speculations over the months, Henry Cavill is all set to be back to be the Earth’s mightiest superhero. According to a new report, the British actor will be wearing the blue and red caped costume and reprising his role as Superman in the standalone sequel of the 2013 film Man of Steel. The same report states that the upcoming film is currently in the making with Henry in mind as the superhero and is a part of the extended DCEU universe.

Henry Cavill’s details

Henry Cavill made his debut as Clark Kent, aka Superman, in Man of Steel which was directed by Zack Snyder. It was the same film that laid the foundations of DCEU. The actor further reprised his role in Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). However, Cavill quietly exited the universe following the exit of Zack Snyder from the universe and Warner Bros’ change of focus regarding the franchise and its future.

Recent reports

Earlier in September, reports started doing rounds about Henry Cavill making a comeback as Superman. Industry insiders also claimed that the new management of Warner Bros was able to convince the actor to come back to the franchise. A week ago, the leaked post-credit scene of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam teased Henry’s cameo, and many assumed that the film insiders talked about the same.

The Hollywood Reporter recently stated that Warner Bros Discovery’s CEO David Zaslav and Warner Bros Pictures heads Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca have shown ‘intense desire to reprise the Cavill iteration of’ Superman. As per the same report, the project would be Man of Steel 2, which means it will be a sequel to the 2013 film of the same name. Talking about the film, it is produced by Charles Roven and is currently in search of writers.

Black Adam

The DCEU film Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson, was also released recently that received a humongous response from the audience. The film will get released in Indian theatres on October 20, 2022, a day before its global premiere! Warner Bros recently shared the exciting news on social media. Not only that, but it was also announced that the Dwayne Johnson starrer would be released in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. The film was initially slated to get released in the theatres on October 21, 2022.
