How I Met Your Father Season 2: When will it release on Hulu?
The wait is finally over as How I Met Your Father is officially back with new episodes in January 2023! If you recall, back in February 2022, the series was renewed for a second season, which is now confirmed and scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, exclusively on the streaming platform. In addition to this, the episodes arrived on the streamer at approximately 3 AM ET.
Going forward, subsequent episodes will arrive on a weekly basis on Hulu, starting at 3 a.m. ET on Tuesday mornings. The official Twitter handle of the network also made the announcement with a brand new poster from the season for the fans to get a glimpse into some exclusive stills, quoting, “Let’s make more memories with our favorite people. How I Met Your Father Season 2: What to expect in the new season?
The comedy follows Sophie as she tells her son the story of how she met his father – a story that catapults viewers back to the year 2022 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options. The new season is expected to pick up the plot from the final episode of the first season, “Timing Is Everything,” in which the viewers got to see that Sophie overhears Jesse’s remark “I love you” in his sleep during their first date. He admits to her that he did love Meredith and that’s why he declined her invitation to join her on tour.
He becomes irate when Sophie advises him not to abandon his dream for her because their relationship is still young. She visits the downstairs bar, MacLaren’s, where she encounters Robin Scherbatsky, who advises her not to act based solely on fear. Robin informs Sophie that “time is crucial” after she witnesses Jesse kissing Meredith. In the meantime, Sid urges Hannah to accept the fellowship, and they go away together. Ellen looks after a hostile cat she finds on the streets after a poor job interview. When she runs into Rachel, her new neighbor and the owner of the cat, she gets the job and Rachel agrees to give Ellen another try. Charlie admits he doesn’t want to be a bad dad like his mother when Valentina says she wants kids, and they break up.
In support of Sophie, Charlie, Ellen, Valentina, Sid, and Hannah turn up to the art exhibit. Ian quits his job in Australia and shows up at the performance because Becky insisted on getting the Captain’s boats in their divorce. The main cast members from the first season will reprise their roles which are as follows Hilary Duff as Sophie, Chris Lowell as Jesse, Francia Raisa as Valentina, Suraj Sharma as Sid, Tom Ainsley as Charlie, Tien Tran as Ellen, and Kim Cattrall as future Sophie. The recurring cast members include Ashley Reyes as Hannah, Leighton Meester as Meredith, Josh Peck as Drew, In addition, Stony Blyden co-stars as Jasper. The series is written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Executive producers include Aptaker, Berger, Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Pam Fryman, and Adam Londy. The new season will consist of 20 episodes which is more than the last season with an average runtime of each episode lasting up to 22 to 25 minutes.
