How I Met Your Father is a sitcom that premiered on Hulu on January 18, 2022, and is a spin-off to How I Met Your Mother. The series takes place in the year 2050, when Sophie tells her unseen son the events that followed meeting his father in January 2022, and how they ultimately had him. The spinoff picks up eight years after the events of the How I Met Your Mother finale and it revolves around a new friend group.

How I Met Your Father Season 2 Release Date
Unfortunately, Hulu is yet to announce a release date for How I Met Your Father Season 2 but based on the timeline of the previous season, we can make a guess about the release date of the next season. The first season was premiered in January 2022 in the US but it was released in the UK in May. It depends on the makers which release date they will choose for the next season of the series.
“We’re still going back and forth,” showrunner, Aptaker told TVLine. “We’re finishing out this season, then taking a beat to talk about what the best path forward is.” So, we expect the next season sometime in January 2023.
The makers told TVLine that Hulu “wants us back on the service sooner than later.”

How I Met Your Father Season 2 Plot
At the end of the first season, we saw plenty of makeups and breakups. Sophie and Jesse take their relationship to the next level and spend a passionate night together. But when Jesse says I love you, Sophie, in his sleep, Sophie panics and she feels that they’re moving too fast. She tells her that he should be with her ex-girlfriend, Meredith. She heads to a bar downstairs after that and runs into Robin Scherbatsky. After getting some relationship advice, she heads back to Jesse’s apartment and finds him kissing Meredith.
Now, Sophie’s tinder date, Ian, and her story will be explored in Season 2. Charlie and Valentina have broken up and now, the pair will have to learn to be amicable friends as the gang explores their future storylines.

“I feel like if that gets a little more sorted, the love stuff will fall more into place because she’ll have the confidence to love herself more. But I feel like our show’s hopefully going to go on for a really long time, so we don’t want her to get too sorted, too fast.”
